GWB and where the buck stops

Oh, that's right...because some liberal elitist should be able to decide how best to use MY money that I EARNED to support society? Yeah, that's laughable.

Your fallacy is in assuming that it's going to be any different under the Republicans, who have already had four years controlling EVERYTHING to prove themselves (and longer than that in the Congress). Less government for rich, white, straight Christians, maybe. But doubtful even then. PS if you want a strong military and good intelligence, you have to pay for it. It is where the majority of your hard-earned tax dollars go.

Why's that, you smug bastard?

What is wrong for EXPECTING that I should KEEP what I EARN!?!

People always trying to turn everything into a black or white issue, along with negativity.

As a libertarian you should still favor a strong federal military. Where does the money come to pay for that? It comes from you and me. You still do not get to keep everything that you earn.

As a libertarian you should favor the right of the individual over the state. That means not creating laws that deny others their rights - be that owning assault weapons, having an abortion, etc.

Nobody is on to something.

Yes, I am for the right to keep and bear arms. I am for the right to free speech no matter how stupid or offensive it may be. I am for the right of free expression of religion and the separation of church and state.

Most importantly, I'm for free trade and open markets. Kerry's not. All this talk about "closing loopholes" and "amking companies pay that outsource" is old-line euro-socialism at its worst.

About the only line where i break with libertarianism is the abortion issue because I equate it with murder.

Problem:

The guy he's running against is an even BIGGER irresponsible big-governmen socialist.

90946[/snapback]

But the people that vote for Bush and other "conservatives" don't hold them to a higher standard.

Why do I attack people who support Bush? Because most of you actually believe in smaller government and less spending, but you would hypocritically give your vote to a socialist anyway. I can't explain you people. You're happy to say things like, "what choice do I have" when you have all the choice in the world. It's a democracy, and yet you let a group of people in the RNC dictate to you how to vote. You are basically part of a big union groupthink called the Republican party.

I hear this all the time on here: "I have no choice... between Kerry and Bush, I have to vote Bush." That's moronic and why AD calls you lemmings. Imagine the choice that the Founding Fathers faced, between living pretty rich under oppression and risking everything to create a democracy. They had a tough choice. All you have to do is vote out the people who lie to you about what they will do in office. Egads. This makes me nuts.

Why don't I attack the Democrats? They are a lost cause. They actually believe that socialism works. At least most Conservatives, even though they support socialists every election, would say they are capitalists.

So about 99% of voters are either lost causes or morons. With that out of the way, who do you support in this election, and what is their chance of pulling off an upset?

Badnarik, and since 99% of voters vote in favor of big government, big spending, and government intrusion on our lives, etc., he has no chance of winning.

BTW, just so we're clear. The Dems are lost causes, but I respect them for not being hypocritcal. They vote for what they believe in. It's the Republicans who are morons, because they say they believe in small government but don't vote for people who don't do a single thing to shrink it. See, for example, 800,000 gov't jobs added since the Repubs took control of the Fed and Legislative branches four years ago. Those numbers would make Stalin blush.

That pretty much covers it. We can keep pretending that the two parties are different based on the rhetoric they campaign on, or we can look at the facts.

They are bankrupting this country and have become the very government the Founding Fathers were so afraid of.

Constitution, schmonstitution.

I agree with your assessment that most voters are in fact in favor of big government (99% seems a little high, but a majority anyway).

I disagree Democrats vote for what they believe in - many examples to choose from, if you wish.

The argument about winning the best outcome you can, or losing horribly with your personal integrity intact has been going on for a while. You've made your choice, I've made mine. We'll both be able to sleep after we vote.

P.S. Forget Stalin blushing.

I trust these thoughts will warm your soul as you watch jihadists party in the streets with their assault rifles at the announcement of a Kerry victory (if that happens).  It will be an international love-in among them, the French, and the libs.  Great pack you libs run with...
