Graham Archive: Columns | AFC East blog

Tim Graham: Hello from gorgeous Foxborough, Mass. The stadium crew is setting up the stage for Bruce Springsteen right in front of me, but let's talk football ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John (Baltimore, MD): I'm trying to figure out why the Ravens aren't even looking into the possibility of getting Brett Favre. There is no doubt we are a better team if we have him. Flacco has to sit for at least a year no matter how good they say he is looking. Boller and Smith are not the answer in the mean time. Why not add Favre make a run at a Super Bowl and then hand the reigns to Flacco? We added a banged up McNair and went 13-3. We have a good mix of vets and young guys. It just makes no sense to me why the Ravens wouldn't at least explore it. This town would go absolutely crazy if Favre came here.

Tim Graham: I'll give you a short answer (and it involves the AFC East). They're not going after Favre because they lost to the Dolphins last year.

Favre has only a year or two left. He can be a difference maker, but he can't resurrect a franchise by himself.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steve (Syracuse, NY): Any chance Terry Glenn ends up in Tennessee? Or on any team for that matter?

Tim Graham: The Dolphins have been coy about Glenn, but there is a ton of respect there. Bill Parcells thinks very highly of "her," as does new head coach Tony Sparano, who was highly involved in the Cowboys offense.

I asked Sparano a couple days ago if he thought Glenn was a dangerous weapon and he said he sure looked like one when he came back from his knee injury at the end of last season.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan (Winthrop, ME: What's the word on the Pats signing of Lamont Jordan? With a seemingly crowed back field (Maroney, Faulk, Morris, etc.) What chance will he have to make the team or what role will he fill?

Tim Graham: Jordan is a nice addition for the Patriots, who have dealt with their share of backfield injuries. He provides an insurance policy to Laurence Maroney and is a power runner for near the goal line. It looks like the Patriots' offense has improved a little -- if that's at all possible.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon (Chicago): Don't you think Rex Grossman is underrated?

Tim Graham: No.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taylor in VA: I think Buffalo has a 3rd round steal in QB Trent Edwards. Forget all the talk about not being able to throw the deep ball. This kid looks cool and calm in the pocket and he reminds me of a young Tom Brady. The deep ball will develope and with it, the Bills will finally return to the playoffs! Am I dreaming?

Tim Graham: My resrvations about Trent Edwards begin and end with his touchdown-to-interception ratio.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

chauncey (teaneck): Who will the the Jets starting qb on opening day?

Tim Graham: Based on the early action, Chad Pennington is the better performer. But the Jets would prefer Kellen Clemens to go out there and win the job.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brian-NY: You've managed to answer 4 questions in 20 minutes, impressive

Tim Graham: Is that a question?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John (Augusta, GA): Who will end up being the starting QB for the Dolphin's this season? Also is Ricky Williams really looking as good as advertised?

Tim Graham: Josh McCown is the leading candidate to start for the Dolphins. John Beck has had a rough start to training camp and needs to correct a sidearm delivery flaw. Chad Henne has looked raw during offseason workouts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RAY GAINESVI,LLE FLA: QUESTION TO TIM GRAHAM AT 1.05 HI TIM GRAHAM WHERE U RANK GIANTS SUPER BOWL UPSET OF NEW ENGLAND

Tim Graham: Among the all-time upsets? Right below Larry Ownings defeating Dan Gable and the USA hockey team beating the Soviets.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Johnny (Bronx, NY): You type like old people f...drive.

Tim Graham: My turn signal is on because I'm going to change lanes in a couple miles.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mark (Bangor, PA): Based on your opinion of the NE offense I should keep Brady in my fantasy league?

Tim Graham: No. Definitely trade him for J.P.Losman.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Justin (Fl): what is the chances chad henne plays this season

Tim Graham: He could turn out to the No. 2 quarterback ahead of John Beck. He is, after all, this regime's guy. Beck isn't.

Tim Graham: Sorry for the slow start, folks. Had some hiccups. I'll speed it up and stay late. I enjoy doing this.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kev (NYC): Where does this chat rank on the worst of all-time?

Tim Graham: Right above the one Urkel did in '96.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ZzZzZzzZzzZzZz: Tim has two speeds..slow and slower

Tim Graham: I also have reverse.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JD (Buffalo, NY): How do you feel about the Bills this year? Improved D, Improved O?

Tim Graham: I think they'll be improved on both sides of the ball and get into the playoffs. Paul Posluszny is a beast and will be almost like a free-agent acquisition after missing all but the first three games last year. Donte Whitner is a stud. And I think another year of maturation from Trent Edwards and Marshawn Lynch (on the field anyway) plus rookie James Hardy helping out Lee Evans, the offense will be much better.

Tim Graham: And let's not underestimate the addition of Turk Schonert as offensive coordinator. The offense won't be as dull as it was under Steve Fairchild.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kev (NYC): Are you texting in answers via dial-up?

Tim Graham: Smoke signals.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Justin (Fl): What do you think will be the win loss record for maimi and what place do you think they will finish out of 32

Tim Graham: I give them five or six wins this year. There will be worse teams in the league. The Raiders come to mind.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike G (NH): Hello Tim, Any interesting observations from the Patriots walkthrough this morning?

Tim Graham: Not a one. It wasn't a very good practice for insight. They'll be back on the field at 5:30 p.m. Check my blog later for some updates.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

scott (chi): Tim what do you think about reports of fans booing rex grossman at practice is that bush leauge or what??

Tim Graham: What are we talking about? Practice.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tyler (Stewartville, Mn): Do the Dolphins have a chance to go 0-16 and the Pats 19-0????

Tim Graham: I think the Patriots will lose a few games this year. Remember how close they came to getting beat on a few occasions in the regular season. But they're still the best team in the AFC.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dan (Aberdeen, MD): Hey Tim, What's your opinion on Joe Flacco? Do you think he's the savior that Raven fans have been waiting for?

Tim Graham: I like Joe Flacco a lot. He has the potential to be a very special player. He has a golden arm and his footwork isn't nearly as bad as his critics claim.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Louie (Tampa....by way of NYC): With all the moves the Jets made in the offseason and all the strong your on defense I think that unit has the chance to be a top 10 over defense in the league. Agree?

Tim Graham: Top 10 defense? Maybe. They aren't elite at any one defensive position, but they are above average. If Vernon Gholston can pick up the NFL quickly -- and I'm not convinced he can -- they'll be tough up front.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

dan (NJ ): Is this thing live?

Tim Graham: Not very.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chad (dc): Please answer a real football question,,With M. Lynch just getting off without a suspension, how do you feel that affects Marshall? How many games do you feel he will suspended?

Tim Graham: Those are totally different issues. Although Lynch handled his situation poorly, the final charges were minor. I think Marshall will get zapped, but I can' say for how long.

Tim Graham: To the guy signing on as Peter Griffin. I got your post. It wasn't funny the first time, much less the 147th.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zac (MN): With Ronnie Brown's injury, how many games does "Sticky, Icky" Ricky Williams start for the Dolphins? Will he be productive?

Tim Graham: I think Williams will be highly productive this year. Draft him in your fantasy league. Brown will take some time to get over the mental part of his rehab, meaning Williams will be the man early.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kevin (PA): What's the deal with Wes Welker on PUP?

Tim Graham: Great question. Reporters aren't allowed to talk to PUP players. The team hasn't disclosed the injury but it's not believed to be serious.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joe (Buffalo): You mentioned the Turk Schoenert offense will be better than the atrocity that was on the field for the previous coordinator...Can you explain the differences???

Tim Graham: Schonert will open it up. Lynch will be the go-to guy, but with Evans' speed and Hardy's size (6-foot-6) they'll be able to take more shots down field.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zach Rastall (Marinette, WI): How good will Aaron Rodgers be?

Tim Graham: I think he will be good enough to get the Packers back into the playoffs. But he'll be under the microscope so much, every mistake will seem major.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

dan (NJ ): Favre to the Jets?? Can this happen?

Tim Graham: It can, but Favre isn't so keen on the idea. The Jets have backed off but are monitoring.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Justin (Maimi FL): What chanse would New england have of wining any game if say Randy moss and Tom brady got hurt and were out at the same time

Tim Graham: The world would spin off its axis.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike G (NH): A follow up to the no suspension for Marshawn Lynch question. How do you see the commissioner (or the Kraft family for that matter) handling Nick Kaczur?s situation?

Tim Graham: That's an interesting question. I'm sure the league is taking a hard look at Kaczur's deal. I wonder if he'll get a pass from the NFL because he assisted the police in their sting operation.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon (Chicago): Will Andre Johnson have the best year out of any receiver not named Randy Moss?

Tim Graham: I think that's a safe bet. But if Steve Smith can stay healthy, you know he'll amass big numbers. My darkhorse for this season, though, is Lee Evans.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adrian (Libertyville IL): Does Taylor make the Skins a contender this year?

Tim Graham: I don't think a defensive end is the type of player that puts a team over the top. The Redskins were desperate because of injuries.Jason Taylor will turn in another good season, but Washington's hopes won't hinge on him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Justin (Maimi FL): can maimi make the play offs anythime in the next 5 years

Tim Graham: Absolutely. Bad teams can turn it around quickly in the NFL. But the Dolphins were so awful last year, they're already working toward 2009.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan (San Diego): How embarassing will the Patriots secondary be this year?

Tim Graham: I don't think it will be. All reports say Fernando Bryant has looked good in camp and rookie Terrence Wheatly could become an elite lockdown corner.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EVERYONE: Wosrt signing this year.... Tim Graham by ESPN??

Tim Graham: They had the salary cap space.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Justin (Maimi FL): any chace that Ricky williams has a break out year?

Tim Graham: Didn't he do that five years ago?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chad (Savannah, GA): Saints to the Super Bowl? Yes, No, Maybe, or You're Crazy?

Tim Graham: If there was an option in between "yes" and "maybe" I would take it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Xander (Philly): This is kind of in reference to fantasy...how do you feel about Matt Schaub at QB and Michael Turner at RB?

Tim Graham: I like them at those positions rather than the other way around.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike (buffalo): Your thoughts on weather or not the bills split the regular season series with the pats this year? I think they will personally your thoughts?

Tim Graham: Wow. That's a bold prediction by you based on what the Patriots did to them last year. I'd say based on the matchups we saw last year, the Bills will need to get very lucky to split.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

brian (de): Aren't bad rebuilding teams (Dolphins) supposed to think they have a chance? Otherwise what is the point.

Tim Graham: I'm sure they THINK they do.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

steven, baltimore: Dear Tim, I hate you. Love, Steven

Tim Graham: You and my father would have a lot in common,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luis (SB, CA): Tim, will the Cowboys have a top 3 Defense this year? No holes that I can see

Tim Graham: They're banking on Zach Thomas to the extent they traded Akin Ayodele. I'm not sure anyone can count on Thomas to be there for every game given his concussion history. A fender bender knocked him out for the '07 season.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bryan, Ohio: Prediction on the Browns season?

Tim Graham: Playoffs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan(NJ): Santonio Holmes takes another step foward this year? What will be different for lee Evans this year as opposed his inconsistent last 2 years?

Tim Graham: The difference for Evans will be a complement he didn't have last year. Hardy is 6-6. The top three WRs in receptions last year were 5-10 or shorter. Trent Edwards couldn'tbe more ecstatic.

Tim Graham: And I like Santonio Holmes a lot. He should do well for a long time to come.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tim's Father: You suck.

Tim Graham: See, Steven?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John (Oakland, CA): Who are you taking this year: Lynch or Peterson?

Tim Graham: Peterson all the way

Tim Graham: OK guys, I can stay on here all day. So if you want to start asking questions rather than waste more of your time on comments that will never get posted, let's keep going.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan (San Diego): Who represents the AFC in the Super Bowl? Better say the Chargers or i'll be disappointed

Tim Graham: There's this team called the Patriots ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John (Miami): You seem to pity yourself a lot, and post a lot of the negative comments about you. Your not emo are you?

Tim Graham: If you saw the questions I'm choosing not to answer, you'd pity me, too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mad Mike (Houston): Tim: Which of the following players in your opinion will have the better season and why? Mario Williams, Reggie Bush and Vince Young. Thanks................MM

Tim Graham: That's a tough one because of the different positions. But if I needed to put a team together and had to pick only one of those, I'd go with Williams.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake (Denver): Geez, Tim... you're taking shots like Carr, hire an O-line for the next chat! By all accounts Mayo has looked great for the Patriots. How will Belichik use one of his favorite toys, a new linebacker, this season?

Tim Graham: The Pats D needed to get younger, so I think he will play a lot. He's versatile and can be a playmaker. He has the potential to be a special player.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike G (NH): After Manning and Brady, who would be your next QB to start your team with?

Tim Graham: Drew Brees

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luis (SB, CA): Tim, Does Ronnie Brown bounce back from that ACL injury? He looked phenomenal before he got hurt. I'm counting on you, I'm on the fence with his Fantasy impact this year.

Tim Graham: I wouldn't take him too early. If he has an impact it will be later in the season.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mad Mike (Houston): Tim: The Packers surprised us all last year by winning 5 more games than the previous year. Which team is most likely to give us that kind of upswing this year? Thanks........MM

Tim Graham: I can see the Dolphins improving their win total by 600 percent.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anthony (NYC): Hey tim at what point in the season will Gholston takeover the position from Thomas?

Tim Graham: It's hard to say because Gholston is so raw yet so talented. If he can figure out the game, he'll be devastating. But I'm not sure how quickly he can do that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chad (Savannah, GA): Who has more wins the Dolphins or Notre Dame? I say the Dolphins.

Tim Graham: They'll have a lot more chances.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake (Denver): Who is projecting Wheatley as an elite lockdown corner? Sorry, I just haven't seen him take an NFL snap yet.

Tim Graham: I'm guessing the Patriots didn't pick his name out of hat.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glenn (NJ): How about answering a questions about Chad Jackson

Tim Graham: I'm all for it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just answer the question! (NY): Do you think the Lions will be able to keep Millen once he takes them to the super bowl?

Tim Graham: What's he doing, arranging a charter bus to Tampa?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glenn (NJ): LIAR...I have asked 14 of em Will this guy touch the field or are we calling him a bust?

Tim Graham: Well, if you saw the string of comments flying in here, you'd realize how tough it is to find a legit question. Sorry for not seeing it.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he's a victim of the other talent on the roster. With Moss and Welker, the Patriots don't feel compelled to get him touches.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jason (Indiana): Geez people, whats up with all the name calling and bashing on Tim? Its just a opionon chat. Tim, Do you think the Bears can make the playoffs assuming their defense is in the top 5 again?

Tim Graham: A top five defense? I'd say that gets them in if they can find someone reliable to get Hester the ball.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon (Chicago): Will your brother from another mother Earnest Graham have another solid season?

Tim Graham: I need to call him and see how my nephews are doing ... I think he will do just fine this year. Cadillac Williams won't be back for a while.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glenn (NJ): Sorry Tim, it gets frustrating trying to balance sitting here wasting time sending in questions while trying to avoid the boss. heres another legit questions for you. Will McFadden have a AP type year or is he destined to be a Reggie Bush type?

Tim Graham: He'll certainly be among the top two or three candidates for rookie of the year, but he could be hurt in the touches department with the Raiders playing from behind so much.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Franco (Philly): Timmy how many wins for this year for the E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!

Tim Graham: 8 ... And that's not a statement of their talent. The division is strong this year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jamarcus (Oakland): how will i do this year with the raiders?

Tim Graham: Thankfully, you won't have the tall task of beating out Josh McCown this year. So the rest is gravy. I think you'll have a good season of development and show flashes of brilliance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Travis: Hey Tim I like you and your witty responses to the hate mail. You have some fans out here!

Tim Graham: Thanks, Travis. I appreciate the brutal honesty.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike G (NH): Matt Ryan, destined for baptism by fire or clipboard caddy?

Tim Graham: Baptism by molten lava.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daniel (Athens, Ga): Which 2008 AFC East draft pick that was not picked in the first round will have the best career?

Tim Graham: Holy crud. That's too tough to answer. But I do like Broncos WR Eddie Royal.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anthony (NYC): Tim is this the season we get to see big things from the combo of Denver Cutler/Marshall/Scheffler?

Tim Graham: That's a dangerous trio. We've already seen big things from Marshall and Scheffler is a stud. Many QBs have blossomed in their third NFL seasons, so they could do some damage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

brian (de): To answer Daniel's question.. Phillip Merling is going to be a beast on the Dline. The Broncos are not in the East.

Tim Graham: My apologies. I was going around the NFL in my head. I think Merling has looked fabulous so far in the OTAs, minicamp and few practices so far. That's a good call.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steven, Baltimore: Tim, I never meant to sound like your father. Im sorry for all those terrible things I said.

Tim Graham: That's just what he'd say.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HOMER ALERT: now here comes the James Hardy answer

Tim Graham: Nope, not a homer with the Bills. I'm from Cleveland and grew up a Browns fan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Harry (Cabo Wabo): What has Scheffler done to make you think he's a stud? Admit it, you are a Denver homer. Reggie Bush over/under 1000 yards rushing?

Tim Graham: I think Scheffler is one of the more underrated TEs in the game. He's tough to stop in the red zone.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

brian (de): Tim, you are winning over all the haters by staying with the chat past an hour. Keep it up.

Tim Graham: I love me some haters. Keeps the juices flowing and gives me reason to keep thinking about and working on ways to do things better.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ben plattsburgh: just saying I have never seen such a negative response from chatters.....

Tim Graham: You should see the cards I get at Christmas.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HOMER ALERT: you worked for Buffalo News, that is being a homer. "Paul Poluszny is so great, Lee Evans and James Hardy will make up the best receiving core in the NFL blah blah blah.." You are a homer.

Tim Graham: Interesting take. Ask me a Doug Flutie question.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Travis: I hate to keep sending this in but I need one Cardinals answer and you're the guy for the job! What do you think of Leinart and will the Cardinals make the playoffs?

Tim Graham: Sorry again about missing some of the questions, but they drop down quickly. I've received nearly 800 questions and comments so far.

Leinart is the key to whatever playoff hopes the Cardinals may have. He has the supporting cast at the skill positions, but I'm not sold he's all that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matt, IN: Here's a Doug Flutie question. Do you think Phillips screwed up when he benched Flutie in favor of Rob "Statue of Liberty" Johnson? Would the 'Music City Miracle' not have happened had Flutie started?

Tim Graham: Flutie gave the Bills their best chance to win, but he was a cancer in the locker room after the switch was made. The Bills loved Rob Johnson because he looked like the prototypical QB. So, to answer the question, Flutie would have been the better choice.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ben (Tempe, AZ): Don't you hate it when guys send you the same question over and over again? Just loading your inbox with junk? Anyways, so I'm not that guy :worthy: Do you watch baseball or only football? Playoff predictions?

Tim Graham: Baseball used to be my favorite sport, but I lost interest in the late 1990s for various reasons.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon (Chicago): Rex Grossman or Doug Flutie?

Tim Graham: Right now? That's a tough one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike (buffalo): Ill take the homer alert, THE BILLS ARE THE NEW POWER IN THE EAST, SUPER BOWL BOUND OVER THE GIANTS! who miss on a last second field goal attempt sailing wide right

Tim Graham: Have another Labatt Blue, Mike.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TK (brooklyn): REAL QUESTION: Any word on the Jason Peters situation?? What do you think will happen there?

Tim Graham: There's nothing to report as of the time I sat down for this chat 7 hours ago. Each side is trying to wait the other out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jesse (Boise, ID): I heard a rumor that Ralph Wilson rather than Phillips ordered the switch from Flutie to Johnson. Have you heard that?

Tim Graham: I have heard that. And I believe it. But I don't know for sure.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ben (Tempe, AZ): They call you a homer but it does say at the top that you are an AFC East blogger. Makes sense you would know about the Bills.

Tim Graham: I lived there eight years. I met my wife there. My son was born there. What can I say? But I don't root for them. I just happen to think they have enough skill to be the second-best team in the division, which isn't saying much.

Tim Graham: OK guys, I'm going to wrap this up at 3 p.m. I have some work to do before the second Patriots practice, but let's keep plowing ahead.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anthony (NYC): Why are people sounding negative about Lee Evans, he's actually one of the most underrated WR in the NFL. If he had a QB imagine what he would do.

Tim Graham: He had a Pro Bowl-caliber season in 2006.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike (Rochester,NY): Tim you're doing a great job with this chat. What are your thoughts on Buffalo's secondary this year? How long do you think it will take McKelvin to start, and what kind of difference do you think he can really make this year?

Tim Graham: I think McKelvin has the ability to start right away at the left corner spot, but Jabari Greer is very reliable.

S Donte Whitner has made a playoff guarantee, and guys like him will have to be huge players to make that happen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Louie (Tampa.....by way of NYC): Tim, where are the Bills THAT much better then the Jets?

Tim Graham: The games were ultra-low scoring, but the Bills won both games last year and go into this season knowing who their QB will be. Edwards got all the first-team reps over the offseason. The Jets made the splashier offseason acquisitions, but the Bills filled holes as well.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

rizzo ( WI ): Are the Packers making the right choice at QB AND how would you handle it ?? Thanks.

Tim Graham: I can't blame the Packers for how they handled Favre. They needed to plan for their future. Favre is the better player, obviously, but enough was enough.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John (Miami): Jake Long = Least interesting #1 pick ever?

Tim Graham: Factor in that he signed before he was even drafted and, yes, I think you might be right.

Tim Graham: I apologize for the screwup on the Tank Williams question. It accidentally got deleted. Whoever asked, send it in again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake (Pittsburgh): PLEASE ANSWER. Where do the steelers skill players rate as a whole. I have them being either 2nd or 3rd

Tim Graham: That's a broad-strokes question. How are you ranking them? How many are you ranking? How many RBs and WRs? Are you including TEs?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bruce (MN): Will the Rams make the playoffs this year and will Stephen Jackson get a new contract before the end of training camp?

Tim Graham: Jackson didn't pick the best time to get into a contract dispute. But he has a new agent, and we don't know if this is Jackson's doing or the agent's.

The Rams are a borderline playoff team, but I'll say no.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steven, Baltimore: it was me. i thought tank williams was on the cowboys...or is that tank johnson...and how IS tank Johnson by the way?

Tim Graham: Tank Williams is the DB/LB for the Patriots.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake (Pittsburgh): QB, top 2 RB and WR and Top TE I would go probably Pats, Colts, Steelers, Cowboys

Tim Graham: On first glance, I can't argue with that. I think the Steelers go deeper than the Colts at WR unless Harrison can regain his 2006 form.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bruce (MN): Why even take the previous question then? Will the Rams make the playoffs this year and will Stephen Jackson get a new contract before the end of training camp?

Tim Graham: I already answered yours.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steven, Baltimore: Just answer me one last final question and I'm gone forever: Am I the Tim Graham chat MVP?

Tim Graham: Not if you're done forever. Why would I reward somebody who's not coming back?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan (San Diego): Hello...Chargers anybody? They have the best offense in the NFL

Tim Graham: That's why it's tough to answer those questions. I think Jake is saying those teams have talent that runs deeper. But I agree with you, Ryan. The Chargers' top players at each position stack up.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nick (Cleveland): Browns not ahead of the Steelers? Just how much better is Roethlisberger? Edwards is better than any Steelers reciever and Stallworth is a solid number two. Winslow is an elite tight end while Jamal Lewis is a top 15 RB. I guess I'm just not a believer in Parker.

Tim Graham: Santonio Holmes is much better than Stallworth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steven, Baltimore: I was bluffing you know I would never leave you Timmy. Please tell me something about my Ravens.

Tim Graham: Cam Cameron is one of the nicest guys you would ever meet.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tim (San Antonio): Ryan from San Diego, take off the homer glasses please. You don't have the second best offense in the AFC, let alone the NFL. Prepare for another season of heartbreak at the hands of the Patriots... assuming your team gets that far.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake Pittsburgh: The Chargers have LT and Gates... other than that rivers is not proven, and their WR's are weak

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mark (Lafayette, LA): That ranking is pathetic, you should retract it before you lose all credibility. LT is the best RB in the league, Gates is the best TE. And Rivers has taken the Bolts farther than Brees (your "3rd best QB") ever did. With the addition of Chambers and emerging V. Jackson, you dropped the ball...

Tim Graham: Now, now boys.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jason (HI): Worse move: Bills starting Johnson over Flutie or Sabres watching Drury walk?

Tim Graham: Sabres watching Drury walk. Hands down. He agreed to a contract in October and they never had him sign it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

James (Knoxville): Can you expand on the Flutie "being a cancer in the locker room" comment? He seems like a good teammate

Tim Graham: I was going to stop at 3 p.m., so one or two more ...

Players on those teams speak of Flutie as not being a good teammate to Johnson and feeding the divisiveness in the locker room. Players chose sides.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lovie Smith: I believe Rex and Kyle are two of the best in the league at the quawtaback position. they are our quawtabacks

Tim Graham: Shouldn't you be in the film room?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon (Chicago): Before you leave, Who will have a better year...Chad Johnson or Torry Holt?

Tim Graham: Chad Johnson.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Franco (Philly): Timmy who do you think the Eagles should start, McNabb or Kolb?

Tim Graham: Is this a trick question? McNabb.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mikey(Lackawanna,NY): Do you think the Bills have any Pro Bowl caliber players on offense?

Tim Graham: Here we go with the chants of homerism. Mikey, scroll back and take a look. I'm big on Lynch and Evans and took some heat for it.

Tim Graham: OK, guys. That's a wrap

I apologize for the slow start and for missing a lot of questions because they come in so heavy they quickly drop off my screen. So please don't take it personally.

You sent in over 900 questions and comments. Thanks for the response. I hope to see you again.

Tim Graham: P.S. Drop me a line in my AFC mailbag!

Scroll through and you'll find about 15 questions about the bills. I've never heard of the guy but he's very high on the future of the Bills, and took a lot of heat from fans that obviously don't know too much about the young bills.

He is a Buffalo native, and worked for the Buffalo News a number of years. He is also a regular (or will be) on Brad Ritters' show on WECK. He was just hired, recently, to be ESPN's on-line AFC East correspondant...I heard him on Brad's show about two weeks ago. He admitted to be being fairly well versed on all the teams in the division, except the Patriots...mainly because the team is so secretive and stand-offish with the press. Gotta say, I enjoyed reading that "mailbag"...one more little thing to look forward to this football season! :worthy:

And he said so right in the chat! <_<

"Tim Graham: Nope, not a homer with the Bills. I'm from Cleveland and grew up a Browns fan. "

Yeah, sorry about that. I could have sworn, on his Ritter segment he said he was from WNY. Maybe he meant he had worked there. He also said he was currently living in Miami, but was going to likely be moving back to Buffalo...maybe his wife is from there or something....you got me! :D
