They do, since Lucas changed it in the DVD release so that Han didn't shoot first. It's a contentious point...mostly because so many Star Wars fans are utter lunatics, but also because it changes the entire characterization of Han Solo from a self-serving rogue who agonizes over doing the right thing (at the end, as the deus ex machina in the Death Star trench), to someone who's actions are basically preordained, and thus removes a lot of the dramatic tension from the character and the movie. And shows what a piss-poor filmmaker Lucas is, that he couldn't even see that Han shooting first was actually a very important point of character development.

It's not a coincidence that the best Star Wars movie - The Empire Strikes Back - is also the movie that Lucas had the least control over.

Your correct. They did a documentary I think 2 years ago about Lucas and his films. I do remember him saying something about having hardly any contol over that movie.
