Alice in Chains- Unplugged

Hendrix- Live at the Filmore East

Clapton- Clapton's Rainbow Concert

BB King- Live at the Regal

Queensryche- Operation: Livecrime

Stevie Ray- Live at Montreux

No wonder I can sit and talk music w/ you for hours.

Did I burn the BB King for you? I'm not sure (old age). I like that one a lot. BB may very well be the best live performer I've ever seen. Psycho Ward 86 bought me tickets to a BB King concert as a Christmas present once and when we went to the show, he made a groupie out of her. To the best of my knowledge, she had never heard his music before other than in commercials and such. Now, she tells ME when he's touring in our area...and usually buys the tickets once she finds out when the show is.

The AiC Unplugged is still one of my all time favorites. People used to tell me that if I liked that one that I'd love the Nirvana Unplugged, but I don't. The Nirvana one is okay, it's just not as appealing to me as the AiC.

The Stevie Ray? I can't thank you enough.

Here's a few live albums I have and really like:

Isaac Hayes: Live @ the Sierra Tahoe

Liquid Soul: Liquid Soul

Alice in Chains: Live

Boogie Down Productions: Live Hardcore Worldwide

Soundtrack: When We Were Kings

Charles Mingus: Charles Mingus and Friends

Marvin Gaye: Live!, Live @ the London Palladium

War: Live

Level 42: A Physical Presence

Probably get flamed for it,

but Billy Joel, "12 Gardens Live" is one I listen to a lot.

Also Billy Joel "Songs in the Attic."

Amazing how you can turn up Billy Joel loud enough to piss off your neighbors.

The Dylan "All Hallow's Eve, 1964" bootleg is amazing. As far as I know, it still has not been officially released, but it should be. Amazing performances. Dylan is in a great mood, joking with the crowd and really feeling it. One of my all time favorites.

I think it was released as the 6th in the bootleg series. "Concert at Philharmonic Hall" He's in a great mood because he's got a great high going on. He's clearly departing from folk Bob to a more lucid "Gates of Eden" Bob.

I agree though, his interaction with the crowd is great to have on record, and especially fun to look at in comparison with '66 Royal Albert type interactions.

My buddy's uncle owns that company, actually. He took a flier on the old Fillmore stuff and has turned a tremendous profit on it. They've got some really cool authentic posters and tshirts and the like from back in the day, if you've got the money to spare on that kind of stuff. Also, I haven't read the thread, but no best live album list is complete without the Grateful Dead's Europe '72.

The concert vault is great to have at work. I was listening to BB King in '67 the other day. Great stuff. The historical element is through the roof. Tell your buddy's uncle to keep up the great work.
