Another sign of ESPN's Lack of Respect

I was just searching ESPN.com and came across their schedule of visiting each NFL Team during training camps.

The list of "visits" is below:

ESPN.com's training camp tour is back for the seventh straight year. ESPN.com senior writers John Clayton, Len Pasquarelli and Michael Smith will be traveling all over the country to bring you the latest news on all 32 NFL teams. Check the list below to see when their reports will run.

Note: Some of these dates and locations could change.

Now, isn't it interesting that Tom Donahoe's best friend, Mr. Pastabelly, is visiting the Giants in Albany, the Jets in Hempstead and then hopping over to Cleveland, while the Bills report will be written by Michael Smith while they are at an away pre-season game in Charlotte...

I'm sure that based upon the above, the WorldWide Leader will have a great feel for the tone of Bills camp....

Maybe they figure that since half of Buffalo has moveed to the Carolinas anyway, it will seem like a second home?

Looks like the Chiefs are getting the same treatment (covering on a pre-season road game). This is probably more coverage than ESPN has allocated for the regular season Bills. It is the mindset at the outset...the Bills could not possibly be any good.

The Bills need to earn their respect this year. Right now - to the rest of America, especially the non-football loving section, the Bills are not a sexy story or compelling in any way...They got what they earned...

A nice piece on the team in January would be nice though....

Who cares?  I'm counting on no media respect until we surprise everyone.

this is what i am hoping for. i remember a couple of years ago the Chargers finished 4-12 in 2003. in 2004 all the preason reports had the Chargers finishing in last place largely due to their awful O-Line.

(sound familiar?)

they finished 12-4 and in 1st place in the AFC West.

that is the story i want to see unfold for the Bills this year.

And, *cough, cough* a consensus on suspect ability at QB. Perhaps some Royal help and an improving line improve our young QB's, and our team's prospects?

It is interesting to note that the only other team that doesn't get a visit from ESPN to their training camp is the Chiefs. The Chiefs visit the Vikings for a scrimmage. Clkayton will be covering the Vikings while Smith takes the Chiefs' perspective. Obviously, they aren't putting a very high priority on the Bills, but that may not be a bad thing. Sometimes its OK to fly under the radar while you're trying to rebuild. That way you can surprise some people.
