The football Giants stadium deal isn't absolutely off life support as of this writing. This City & County has to finally address the question: Is WNY a minor league region or a major league region? If we are prime time, I believe we are, in spite of the Buffalo News & local shock talk, then lets build a new stadium at the Dunn Park site. Think about, if promoted properly, all of those sell out concerts downtown in the off season! NFL football, Major League Hockey, Bass Pro, Casino, Waterfront, Culturals, etc., downtown! I'm getting excited! The Bisons are an asset to our city & county; BUT talk about an under used facility. Albeit a great minor league baseball field. Build the stadium, if possible, so the Bisons can play there as well. If not redo Johnny B Wiley Stadium for the Bisons. ### I know this website is better used as a dart board - but the guy makes some sense here.... kasper13 Posted April 8, 2006 Share Posted April 8, 2006 Actually, the Yankees are paying for their new Stadium. New York State is kicking in $450 million on improvements to the surrounding area. (They could spend two billion dollars and it wouldn't help) The Mets are paying $500 million for their stadium, NYS kicks in the rest. Issue with the Bills is not the stadium. Why in the world would they tear down a perfectly good baseball stadium to build a football stadium? Dunn Tire Park site isn't big enough for a football stadium anyways. The old Rockpile site isn't exactly in the best neighborhood. Frankly, it's not safe in that area during the daytime. RW said the stadium is not the problem and even if a new $600 million+ stadium were built, it wouldn't solve anything. In my opinion, it would just create more problems, the biggest being it would drive ticket prices up to an unaffordable level. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Most people posting & replying here are more interested in calling your idea stupid or correcting you for using caps instead of lower case letters. Long & short on your idea, it has merit and is the positive kind of thinking that gets things done....anything can change with persistence and action, nothing ever gets done by cry babies. As Ralph said in today's BN, even if the team had a new SOTA stadium, we're still a poor area. There aren't enough corporations to pay $200K suite leases like in large markets.
