A little Marv/Ralph bashing by Foxsports.com

Recommended Posts

The reason we should care is that no one knows if Marv & the front office is going to be right either. Bottom line, everybody is expressing an opinion only - that includes the national media, local media and us fans. And we need to be aware of differing points of view.

Again, why? I think it's obvious to everyone that not everyone likes the moves the Bills have made. And maybe if I cared enough, I'd save Schein's e-mail addy and send him a "moron" e-mail if/when Robert Royal or Craig Nall play well. But the reality is I don't care and will instead wait to see the results.

we'll soon find out, they'll probably get someone that'll easily be better at kicking off, the colts are going to need a kick off specialist or their brilliant new kicker will cost their special teams in terms of field position

i will say that the dome probably will extend vinateris worth as far as field goals are concerned

So, last year was your first year watching football, eh?

And who are the pats going to get as a K thats going to be BETTER than vinatieri? NO ONE!

Apparently you follow the tom donahoe line of thinking that good kickers are a dime a dozen.

No, the idea isn't always to get a direct player that will be better than the one you are getting. The idea is to spend your limited chips in the way that puts you best in position to win football games. How much better Vinitieri is than his replacement could be offset by how much less his replacement costs, and how the team is improved with that money. Nobody is saying he is a loser or his replacement will be better. Just that the money didn't make sense. Whether the Pats are right or not, we will have to wait and see, but I'm guessing that Bellicheck would agree with me more than you, and is smarter than both of us at football evaluations.

Really? What do you expect the guy yo write?

What great signings Nall, Royal and Tripplett are?

The only people who like what the Bills are doing are the ones that would say what great a job they were doing if they signed no one.

I know it's easy to keep the rose color glasses on but really. Look at what the Bills have done, or haven't done, and explain to everyone how they are better? I would love to know.

Is Tripplett going to keep lineman off of the linebackers? He hasn't done it his whole carreer why would he start now.

You have a smallish Defensive Tackle, a smallish Middle Linebacker and either a rookie or a scrub at Safety. You don't have to be Charlie Weis to know where Curtis Martin, Corey Dillion and Ronnie Brown are going to be heading.

i think schein has a point.  i don't think we've gotten one bit better this off-season.  jauron better be one hell of a coach.

Personnel-wise, appreciably worse. I think the hope of the fans in general was a new coaching staff could get better results from the guys who didn't work well with Mularkey and they could patch some holes in FA.

IMO, Levy eliminated any chance at Jauron having a good season by cutting their only DT, their only SS and their second best(albeit disappointing) OL and not patching things up with Moulds. Free agency has been an absolute nightmare for the Bills, from the new cba and the rise in the cap to the woeful signings or lack thereof. Simply by improving the OL getting the vets down with Jauron's program and adding a DT, this team would have had an outside shot at the playoffs. Now, they may be the worst.

I understand that long term, guys like Milloy, Moulds and Adams aren't part of the plan, but while it's easy to make the quick jump from middle-of-the-pack to playoff-team, the cellar can be very hard to escape. Better to develop from down the depth chart than the front line. I don't think fans will be too tolerant if this team is drafting top 10 for several years running like the Niners and Titans of recent.
