NFL/NHL Rule Changes

Since the NHL changed their rules and the result has been a significantly better Buffalo team, I propose the same thing should happen in the NFL.

Which leads to an interesting question: "What rules would the NFL have to impliment to help the BILLS be competitive?"

To Start:

1. Runs for zero or negative yardage are now a five yard penalty on the defense for "roughing the trench pussies".

2. Trick plays that don't work are now worth four points.

3. Passing plays attempted on 3rd and short are now "do overs" if they result in anything but a completion for a first down. To infinity.

4. (From softball). Teams are only allowed 3 running plays per game that go for more than 15 yards. Any further long gainers are considered fumbles recovered by the defensive team.

5. If a team takes a 20 (or more) point lead against their most hated rival on the road, the game is over, no matter how much time is left on the clock.

6. Teams starting quarterbacks with fewer than 16 starts get eight downs to move the ball 10 yards.

7. The BILLS are now allowed to field six linebackers in addition to London Fletcher, while still keeping their other 8 defensive players on the field.

Feel free to add to the list.

If your kicker successfully makes one 50+ yard FG at any point in the season, he is no longer required to kick ANYTHING under 40. He obviously can't miss those, so teams on 4th down at the opponent's 23 or closer can opt to just take the 3 pts.

If you fire a head coach because he doesn't wear a headset (even though he takes you to the playoffs) for a guy with manboobs and then a guy with sh-- for brains, you automatically get a 10 point head start on all games for 3 seasons.

If any player that SITS ON YOUR BENCH makes more than $7Million a year, you can replace him with as many players as you want, so long as their combined salary doesn't go over that $7 million, up to a maximum of 19 players on the field at one time.

If you have the 'bravery' to try to let your rookie WR pass the ball, if he completes it for any number of yards, each fan gets a reach around.

One point awarded for every window successfully licked clean by your head coach.

GM's have 24 months to turn teams into winners. After 24 months, they are hung and shot

If your hair is a sleek silver, you cant be a GM in the NFL (No dying)

If you played, worked, lived within 50 miles, or know anyone from the Pittsburgh area, they are not permitted within 50 square miles of Buffalo

1. When an NFL coach mentions that a drive took the sail out of our wind, that comment is worth two points.

2. When punting from the 33 yard line at home, the other team will automatically be pinned at the 1 yard line.

3. When a receiver catches a ball, and goes backwards two yards before trying to go forward, that is an automatic first down.

4. If a natural disaster strikes any city other then Buffalo, Buffalo will be granted 1 additional home game.
