Before the holiday season's box office titans(Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, & King Kong) and the major Oscar hopefuls(Memoirs of a Geisha, Brokeback Mountain, Jarhead, Munich, The Producers, Walk The Line, Syriana, & Rent) invade theatres across the nation, October offers a little bit of everything for everyone to see. Surprisingly the month of Halloween offers very little in the horror genre this year.

Antonio Banderas is back as the masked swashbuckling hero of Mexico, in "The Legend of Zorro". Catherine Zeta-Jones returns as well.

Aardmann animation brings the first full length feature film of Wallace & Gromit in "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit".

Chick Flicks are everywhere this month:

Cameron Diaz, Toni Collete, and Shirley MacLaine star in the life comedy-drama "In Her Shoes".

Orlando Bloom & Kirsten Dunst find romance, in the comedy "Elizabethtown", Susan Sarandon co-stars.

Claire Danes must choose between Steve Martin & Jason Schwartzman in "Shopgirl".

Uma Thurman finds herself involved with her psychoanalyst's(Meryl Streep) son, in "Prime".

And Nicolas Cage tries to better his life in "The Weather Man", Michael Caine co-stars.

Horror is at a minimum this month:

Tom Welling, Lost's Maggie Grace & Selma Blair star in the remake of "The Fog".

The serial killer Jigsaw is back in "Saw II"

And Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, & Ryan Gosling star in the psychological thriller "Stay".

In the action category:

The Rock shoots up a lot of weird looking creature's in another video game turned movie "Doom".

Keira Knightly stars as Laurence Harvey's daughter-turned-bounty hunter "Domino".

Other movies include:

Al Pacino, Matthew McConaughey and Rene Russo are a part of the sports gambling world in "Two for the Money"

Charlize Theron goes for more Oscar gold in "North Country", inspired by the Jenson Vs. Eveleth Mines case. Frances McDormand, Sissy Spacek, Woody Harrelson & Sean Bean co-star.

Kurt Russell & Dakota Fanning star in the horse racing flick "Dreamer".

I am curious to see Munich. I saw the documentary "One Day in September" all about the massacre and its chilling. Germany really botched that one and will no doubt get some more egg in their face with this Speilberg flick. I was at Olympia Park last year and its eerie walking through those apartment buildings
