stuckincincy
not necessary, proper santitization is required, not sterilization and there are plenty of sanitizing products, including bleach that work perfectly well. go cheap! 425403 Feeling lucky? http://www.brewingtechniques.com/library/b...1.2/raines.html
BillsFanNC
Feeling lucky? http://www.brewingtechniques.com/library/b...1.2/raines.html 425416 In the homebrewing environment you can't realistically hope to sterilize your equipment unless you happen to have an autoclave in your home. Sanitization is all that is necessary. Also, if you build a good yeast starter in log growth phase when pitching into your wort it will take over fermentation long before any bacteria can take hold.
