Moore is on a 1 year deal for pennies. Acquiring team would take on about a million and be free of him after this season. Samuel is on a 2 year deal. Acquiring team would take on about 7 million this year and would have to be on the hook next season for more as well.

 

So, again, if Moore is easier and cheaper to trade than Samuel - why would we choose to pay more in compensation to acquire Shaheed or Olave when we could pay less with Moore? Especially when Samuel is the better player.

 

Or long story short - Moore and his contract is someone that the Saints would take. Samuel and his contract is not. It's not a question of whether you make a deal, it's a question of do I think the Saints would want to take on his contract? The answer is no and if they did take him, we'd have to pay them more in compensation than we would with Moore for it. 

 

This makes a little more sense.  Samuel isnt owed 7 million if the Bills trade him because he has already played 6 games.   Depending on the week he is likely more around 4-5 million.   Your point about next year is apt.   That said, if we had to pay a little more in the trade to shed the contract Id be ok with that.

If they make a move for a wr it will probably cause Moore or shavers to be released.

 

outside of special teams I am not sure what shavers does.  Moore is unreliable as we saw in the 4th qtr.

 

getting an outside guy and dumping Moore could maybe kick Coleman inside in certain packages, like in the red zone.

 

they are probably not going to make a move.  Beane knows he screwed up last year and it cost them a good player in the draft.  I can’t imagine they do it two years in a row.  I think this year they just have to take their lumps unless they can get shaheed for like a 5th.
