PoundingDog Posted Thursday at 06:28 PM Posted Thursday at 06:28 PM Around the 12 minute mark, he talked about Benford. I'm particularly interested in the 12:35 mark where he got into specifics on Benford skills on football IQ, having a feel for the game, understanding formations, understanding coverages, knowing how to eliminate things on the run. Looking back, I can't help to think those are things Hyde was great at (Poyer at a lesser degree) and I don't know either Rapp and Bishop has it now. Of course White at the time as well which made a great secondary even though none of them were superstars from physical perspective. Elam was a 1st rounder vs Benford's 6th rounder. Elam probably fooled McDermott with his notebook of college mistakes at the draft time; that guy has no football IQ/feel of the game kind of stuff. Quote
Augie Posted Thursday at 06:42 PM Posted Thursday at 06:42 PM Jim Leonhard was 5’8” and played a decade in the NFL as a DB because he was smart and he could process better than the guys who were exceptional athletes. Measurables are easier to judge than processing speed and heart. You need the proper blend. 1 Quote
transient Posted Thursday at 07:03 PM Posted Thursday at 07:03 PM Only started watching for a minute... 30 year old Tre White talking about early 20-somethings as though there is a gigantic generation gap is too funny... try understanding those damn kids when you're in your 50s+, Tre... you'll feel like you landed on another planet. 3 Quote

In NFL years 6 years + is a whole lot. 1 1 1 Quote
