To those just mocking the OP, don’t we think the orange blob has gone beyond just standard “oh, he’s a gasbag; we know this” and crossed a line of hate by calling an openly gay man (who you have no problem with, you just don’t like the TQIA part, right? 🙄) by a woman’s name? When do you stop excusing this heinous behavior by not condemning it? I know the messenger can be tiresome but it’s just another example of the POTUS feeding the hate of a good chunk of his electorate. Funny one, Donnie, you fat turd.

Heinous?  Don't be a candyass

Deplorable. Irredeemable. Garbage.

These are words used as well, and there was no cattle call for resignation for the hateful language used.   I’d have been perfectly ok without hearing this silliness from DJT about Andersen Cooper, it’s ridiculous and completely unnecessary.  Still, selective outrage is n interesting thing.

To answer your question, I would consider deplorable/irredeemable/garbage terms about tens of millions of American voters heinous.  It would be interesting to see if AC used the type of language you used here to call out Clinton/Biden, and of course compelled them to resign over that hate speech.

Cut the crap. Just like when Trump mocked a disabled reporter - now he’s hurling slurs at a gay man on his own social network. This isn’t new. It’s a pattern.

If you want a pissing match over every vile thing he’s said, let’s go. There’s a mountain of receipts.

And if this country had even a shred of consistency or integrity, he would've been done the first time he pulled this *****.

You want to talk about “selective outrage”? Please.

If anyone else said half the dehumanizing trash Trump has, they’d be finished. But somehow, the bar keeps dropping - and his supporters keep crawling under it.

There’s nothing “heinous” about calling out a dangerous narcissist who continuously incites violence and the people who enable him. What’s heinous is pretending this is normal.

I’d say nice try, but it wasn’t. Calling a person garbage is not a hate term. Call me weak, call me a pus.sy, but Trump just keeps justifying the HATE towards homosexuals with stuff like this. Calling a person garbage is the same as calling them an a.sshole, a loser, a douchebag, etc.. It’s an insult. Having any 80 year old man call a gay man  a female name is just hateful. Having the POTUS do it is hateful and just adds fuel to the fire of some of his base.

Oh but that’s right, MATA doesn’t hate ALL gays; just the burly men sneaking into every women’s bathroom in the country. 🙄It’s insane that you all will just group this in with “trump being Trump! Don’t take him seriously!”

Comparing an insult like calling MAGA garbage to calling a man by a female name because he is gay is an insanely weak argument.

Sugar coat it all you want. It is what it is. It’s gone beyond Trump being a gasbag orange blob (uh oh, was that hateful too??) to him just giving his filthy base (hate term!!) another reason to hate people for their sexuality. This isn’t a case of kids getting gender surgery. That, I agree, is wrong. This is the president of the United States calling a man a name solely because he is gay. And to answer another poster about, yes, it is indeed heinous.

That wasn't an attempt to burn you.  That was life advice.  Words aren't violence.

Life advice? Here’s some for you - grab a book;  there is zero chance a well read grown adult would use the phrase “candyass” in 2025.

But I suppose if you’re ignorant enough to think a president’s words can’t incite violence, I shouldn’t be surprised. That’s quite possibly the top 10 dumbest things I’ve read on this board, and that speaks volumes.  There are some great people on this board - both democrat and republican. You are just a walking meme.

I didn’t call you weak, I didn’t call you a pus.sy, I didn’t call you anything at all and have no idea why you think I might.  I told you what I thought about Trump’s comments directly, and provided examples of comments I thought were hateful. I didn’t “hate” Anderson Cooper before the silly comment by Trump, I don’t hate Anderson Cooper after Trump made the silly comment…in fact, I rarely think of him one way or the other and I think I’m probably in the majority.

I guess we just disagree, but it sure seems to me you’re the small-minded one in this conversation,  seemingly wanting to position yourself as the arbiter of how everyone must feel.

I didn’t say YOU hate Anderson Cooper. I “know” you better than that - based on your posts here.

And I would say based on that I know you fully understand the difference between calling a person garbage versus calling a gay man by a female name; stop being ridiculous.

But the dozens (I stopped scrolling) of MAGAs (see: not all republicans) on Twitter currently asking what’s wrong with calling that “sodomite” or “f—“ by a female name is not made better by their “leader” calling him Allison.  It’s beyond the norm that we’ve for some reason accepted of the ***** POTUS being a toddler. It’s crossed into hate. And his most extreme followers just love when their hate is seemingly justified by the highest office in the land.

That’s my point.

I’m not on Twitter, but am quite certain you’re accurately describing what you saw there.  For whatever reason, that place and places like it bring out the worst in people and sometimes the worst type of people.  However, again, I think if you’re suggesting there wasn’t hatred directed against conservatives/Trump voters linked to the comments I shared, I think you’re not paying attention to the ugliness that follows those sorts of comments.  There is no hate shield or bubble wrap there, or some disclaimer “THIS IS A HATE FREE ZONE—these are insults only!”. It’s ugliness pure and simple, it’s just pointed in a different direction.  I understand how you feel about his comments on AC, and I’m not trying to convince you otherwise, I’m just telling you how I feel about it.

As for Trump and his behavior at times, no disagreement from me.
