One got invaded and agreed to a ceasefire. The other started the war and can’t seem to stop bombing schools like target practice.

Both sides, sounds familiar.

The funny thing is that both regimes are, and have been, corrupt and evil as hell. There has also been a civil war ongoing in the Dunbas region of Ukraine for over a decade, involving a pro russia side vs a pro independence side. Ukraine has been active the entire time, supporting the pro independence side. Bad shyt has been happening in the Dunbas region by both parties. Then there was a Russo - Ukrainian War which began in 2014.

It's unfortunate that we can no longer have factual and historic discussions about the long conflict between the two without, today, being labeled as supporting Putin or Russia, simply by pointing out Ukraine's historical involvement.

And of course outside of this conflict, Ukraine has historically been one of the most corrupt countries in the world during this same period.

It's easy to not like either

Yeah, Ukraine’s had corruption issues - so has literally every post-Soviet state, including Russia on steroids.

But calling the Donbas war a simple “civil war” ignores that Russia stirred the pot, armed the independents, and sent troops.

And no, pointing out Ukraine’s flaws doesn’t make someone a Putin fan but regurgitating Kremlin-lite narratives does if you’re not careful.

the beginning of the end of the free press in America.  CBS pi$$ed him off because of their interview with Zelensky and other reporting.  where are the maga's yelling "Freedom"?

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-threatens-cbs-substantial-punishment-100907226.html

“They should lose their license! Hopefully, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as headed by its Highly Respected Chairman, Brendan Carr, will impose the maximum fines and punishment, which is substantial, for their unlawful and illegal behavior,” he wrote. “CBS is out of control, at levels never seen before, and they should pay a big price for this.”

The idiot is barely literate like so many of his followers.  And can't someone find him a new phrase to express hyperbole?

Which is 100% why democrats are so intensely involved in Ukrainian affairs, even before this war.

So much for a quick peaceful end to the war.  trump is putin's beech

https://www.cnn.com/2025/05/19/europe/analysis-putin-trump-phone-call-ukraine-latam-intl

For the best part of three years of war, Russia’s state media has been lecturing its audience they are not only in conflict with Ukraine, but also with all of NATO, including the United States. The presidency of Trump has created a small window in which the Kremlin might talk its way into a better position, or even alleviate the pain of some Western sanctions. But it does not change the central calculation or message of the Kremlin: this is an existential war, about re-establishing their pre-eminence in their near abroad. So much pain and loss has been inflicted on the Russian people through staggering war casualties that delivering middling to poor results might significantly limit the longevity of Russia’s leadership. This isn’t a war they can be seen to have lost.
