Except... the play you were talking about was NOT in a goal-to-go situation. It netted the Eagles 5 yards, and a first down conversion en route to an eventual TD. In that situation it was a bone-headed move by Phillips. He is responsible for entirely too many of these types of bone-headed moves this season.

Criticism of Phillips on this specific play relies on the refs being completely blind to an obvious false start because the league must love the tush push/brotherly shove branding lol. Phillips went when Kelce started his bs illegal antics before snapping the ball

seems like the key to being successful in the nfl  is coming up with a cool name for things…’sauce’ Gardner can hold virtually whenever he wants because he’s got a recognizable nickname too 😂

You just wait until Kool-Aid McKinstry hits the league. He'll be able to tackle WRs and the LoS with no calls with a name as great as that.

That's right, in that case it was a first down somewhere in the middle of the field.  But, the Eagles would have gotten the first down anyway, so it was a few more yards for the chance to ding one of their players and maybe make them think twice about doing it again (which didn't work of course, but was worth a shot).

I watched it and as someone who didn’t have a dog in the fight I just laughed.. I will say I thought for sure it was going to be a personal foul since he hit Hurt. No I didn’t think it was all that hard but with the way they protect QBs especially the star ones I was shocked.

if any team did this more than once I think the league would suspend the player and probably fine the team and if they found out it was planned it be a heavy punishment.  Worse than Bountygate..

The league would have to announce ahead of time that interfering with the tush push play would be a penalty.  Which would be ridiculous of course.  They would have to announce that a false start by the Eagles is supposed to be ignored.  And no team would be foolish enough to tell its players out loud that they were trying to injure the other team.  (But they wouldn't have to tell them, would they?)

Kool-Aid would be poison on the roster, at least when they play Jonestown.
