Another Smurf WR...is there a trend here?

Recommended Posts

Nehemiah Glover

WR | (5'8", 177, 4.5) | TEXAS TECH

I can't recall the Bills ever drafting/signing so many small WR/PR types. Is this just a function of taking good, productive "football players" in a down draft year, or might there be some kind of new offense in the works?

Wonder if these small guys might come back into vogue with the new emphasis on D Holding. Maybe thought process is that if they can get off the line, their speed can be utilized to the fullest extent, as once best the five yd zone, no one can touch them.

Just a guess

Since we have the original, I don't see much chance the poor man's version will be a keeper.

I guess that's my point. Since they drafted Parrish so high, I'm surprised they'd sign some other UFDA's in the same mold.

I think there's a much more obvious need for a bigger WR to challenge Aiken, who's the only real size option behind EM. If EM develops hammy problems again, we don't have anyone on the roster (other than Aiken) who can line up on the outside.

This source says he's pretty fast:

He was not a combine invitee, so we don't have anything like official numbers.  Still, he seems to be a poor man's Roscoe Parrish.  Since we have the original, I don't see much chance the poor man's version will be a keeper.

At the TT pro-day he ran a 4.65.. : http://www.nfl.com/draft/analysis/individu...orkouts#textech

I've seen some guys who are real high on Tony Brown, the FA picked u p from Tennessee. According to at least one fan on the official Bills fan forum, a guy who is also a Tennessee fan, Brown is fast, has great hands, and has improved his route running. He was overlooked in the draft because he was lost in the glut of RBs at Tennessee his first couple seasons. In his last couple seasons, Tennessee has had awful quarterbacking and went to much more of a ground game. He does have pretty good size.

What's your 40 time? If it's under 4.5, you might want to consider crashing this weekend's mini-camp! :P

Why am I picturing Willie Mays Hays running in his pajamas in Major League.

He ran a 4.45 on his Pro Day, but that seems considerably faster than the times I've seen for him elsewhere. Sounds like a clone of Aiken, rather than an upgrade.

Glover will be cut quickly.  He's not fast enough and too small.  Roscoe will make up for his size with his speed.

It may have something to do with steriods.  If a guy doesn't weigh 180, he can't possibly be a steroid user

...since when is a 4.41 40 time too slow?? Not fast enough for WHAT, i guess is a better question here...
