Good player but we need a youth movement. This is surprisingly an older roster.

We have a lot of cap room next year to get some vets. We need our draft picks though.

all 11 of them?

They can use some to move up in earlier rounds.

I wouldn't be against getting Tate if it only cost a mid round pick. He could help give our young QBs some confidence.

They need a vet WR or two and won’t be an attractive FA destination. A trade or two would make sense at that spot.

Derek Anderson met expectations on Monday night, and unfortunately for the 35-year-old signal-caller, expectations aren’t high at this point in his career. Anderson didn’t have much help from his offensive line or wide receivers, but he didn’t do much to elevate their play. He threw a bad fourth-quarter interception to Pats’ Devin McCourty to seel the Bills’ fate, as well.

Dion Dawkins was a bright spot along the Bills’ offensive line, but it’s still hard to shine brightly when you’re the lone bright spot on the offensive side of the ball.

Before leaving the game with an injury, Tremaine Edmunds was a frequent target in underneath coverage, which did not go so well for the Bills. New England was consistently able to take advantage of the rookie linebacker by getting him matched up with James White and Julian Edelman, leading to a number of easy first down conversions.

Linebacker Matt Milano made several plays for the Bills’ defense on the night, but it was a play he didn’t make late in this game that was most notable. On a rare Brady mishap on the Patriots’ first drive of the fourth quarter, Milano was unable to make Brady pay for failing to see him closing on White in the flat. An interception there would’ve given Buffalo the ball in Patriots territory with the game very much still in reach. Instead, the Patriots finished the drive with their only offensive touchdown of the night and put the game out of reach.

Bills vs. Patriots final score, takeaways: Pats surge late vs. upstart underdogs for easy road win

For about three quarters and change, the Buffalo Bills decided to make things kind of interesting at home against the Patriots. And then reality set in, with New England snuffing out the hope for a primetime divisional upset, waltzing away from the Bills 25-6 on Monday night.

The Patriots were massive favorites (the line closed at New England -14) but a raucous Buffalo crowd inspired Derek Anderson and the Bills defense to a pretty impressive performance. The game was somehow both less close and closer than the final score indicated: New England was in control for almost the entire game and Buffalo had the ball late with a chance to do some damage before a pick six wrapped things up and gave the Pats a 19-point lead.

CBS Sports senior NFL writer Pete Prisco breaks down the Patriots and Bills on Monday Night Football.

Joe B: 7 Observations from Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots (10/29/18)

bp0NBR-b?format=jpg&name=600x314

(WKBW) - For the first time in a decade, the Buffalo Bills were the hosts of Monday Night Football in a game where the crowd, the halftime ceremony to retire Thurman Thomas' number, and the opponent were all right. The atmosphere, as one would expect, was a great one for a game of that magnitude compared to the rest of the regular season tilts over the years.

However, the team on the field -- most notably the offense -- didn't have the game to live up to the hype of the event, as the Bills stumbled their way to a third-straight loss, and now are near the basement of the AFC with a 2-6 record.  The New England Patriots wound up winning against the Bills, once again, only this time with a 25-6 victory.

How did it all come to be? Seven observations from the Bills' most recent loss:

1) Another defensive gem wasted
2) Milano bounces back in a big way
3) Optimism nowhere to be found on offense
4) The time for change along the offensive line should be here
5) Zay Jones continues to progress
6) Bills don't rule out Allen missing the rest of 2018
7) One last trade deadline push

Bills MVP: WLB Matt Milano
- The second-year linebacker was all over the field in a significant bounce-back effort from his performance last week against the Colts.

Bills LVP: The offensive line
- This award could go to quite a few entities on the Bills' roster, but I think the offensive line's inability to get a push against the defense up front, and for allowing Derek Anderson to take the punishment that he did for much of the game is what ultimately wins out.

Up Next: The Bills (2-6) stick around Orchard Park for their second straight home game, this time against the Chicago Bears (4-3) on Sunday, November 4 at 1:00 pm at New Era Field.

The Buffalo Bills couldn't quite pull the upset on Monday, losing to the New England Patriots once again and providing even more questions about the offensive side of the ball. Joe Buscaglia and Matthew Fairburn discuss the seeming hoplessness of the offense, and what it means to the future building of the organization.

Williams: "We Need to be Better" (3:31)

Bills DT Kyle Williams spoke to the media following the team's game against the Patriots. Williams discussed how turnovers were the deciding factor in the game and how great the fans were for Monday Night Football.

McCoy: "Everything is Fixable" (5:09)

Bills RB LeSean McCoy spoke to the media following the team's game against the Patriots. McCoy discussed the team's struggles on offense and how they can be fixed moving forward.

Offensive Performance Leaves LeSean McCoy Searching for Answers

In the wake of the team’s latest defeat it was clear that LeSean McCoy’s pride was hurt. Their Monday night loss to the Patriots, that was largely due to an offense that again could not string positive plays together, left him frustrated. The Bills feature back was troubled that they haven’t been able to support a defense that on the whole has kept the them in games.

“It’s real frustrating,” said a subdued McCoy after the game. “We put a lot of work and effort into our craft and your job and the results and the outcomes are like the same. You see the defense out there just grinding. So it’s frustrating.”

Patriots at Bills: The Close Blowout, A Buffalo Specialty

On Monday night, the Bills pulled off one of their specialties: give fans hope for three quarters, but lose by three scores to the Patriots. In addition to 4QC and GWD, we've introduced LC (lost comeback), SICO (self-imposed comeback opportunity), and NGBB (never got ball back) losses in the past. Let's add another to the lexicon with the close blowout, or CBO.

A CBO is a game where the offense has a fourth-quarter comeback opportunity (down by one score with possession), but still goes on to lose by at least three scores (17-plus points). These are rare; this was the NFL's 91st CBO since 2001. It was also the 10th time Buffalo has done it, the most losses in the league. The next closest teams are the Rams (seven) and Redskins (six). As you might imagine, the Patriots have been on the winning end of the most CBOs with nine -- the next closest team is Kansas City (six).
