I spent a week at Orange Beach. It's not bad.

......not bad ??? You need to spend a day, though 5 minutes be enough, on the shores of Lake Erie or Lake Ontario.

I've been to ocean beaches on the Pacific and Atlantic. The Gulf and throughout the Caribbean, Gulf Shores, Alabama is far beyond "not bad".

Good Luck with your quest.

I have always wanted to drive to Tuscaloosa

It's about 1,600 km from Toronto. The UA campus is beautiful and Bryant-Denny Stadium is showpiece. 102,000 fans so it's quite an event. the Elephant Stomp on the Quad in from of the library is cool.

The Paul "Bear" Bryant Museum is interesting and it's only a dollar or two to get in.

How hard is it to get tickets to a game if I ever made the trip?

Depends on the game. but I've never had any problems. The Iron Bowl may be tough. There is a Facebook group where people sell tickets and you can go to Craigslist.

I usually go to a game or two a year.

Where do you stay? I heard the hotel availability and pricing is nuts in Tuscaloosa and up I-20 towards Birmingham during home games.

I have friends there I stay with, but I would try couch surfing or Craigslist. Forget trying to get a hotel in Tuscaloosa. You have to book way ahead and it's ridiculously expensive. Not enough beds for the number of people that flock to Tuscaloosa for games. Airbnb is likely to be really expensive too, but you can check.
