Enough said 3) QB - A.J. Feeley has really struggled and it is up in the air as to whether he is the answer 4) DT - The team has just a bunch of aging veterans and journeymen inside right now 5) FS - The team needs to bring in someone better than Arturo Freeman here -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Minnesota Vikings Depth Chart 1) OLB - Chris Claiborne is a free agent and the youngsters have disappointed 2) S - Brian Russell must be replaced so either a free or strong safety is needed 3) DT - Chris Hovan will be a free agent and most likely won't return beyond this season 4) CB - They are solid with their top 2-3 when healthy but depth is a major concern 5) OL - They found out that depth was needed after facing numerous injuries this season -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New England Patriots Depth Chart 1) CB - Injuries piled up this year and a lack of depth became evident 2) OT - Matt Light does a great job but there is little or nothing at right tackle 3) OG - Steve Neal and Joe Andruzzi leave a lot to be desired inside at guard 4) S - The o-line has been a glaring trouble spot for years now and must be addressed 2) ILB - Having just Kevin Lewis and Nick Greisen inside is not an ideal situation 3) WR - Amani Toomer and Ike Hilliard haven't done their part and there is little or no depth 4) RB - Tiki Barber has been amazing but they need a top backup behind him 5) FS - Could be the final piece to complete a nice young secondary -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New York Jets Depth Chart 1) CB - David Barrett is only average and the Donnie Abraham is well past his prime 2) TE - Anthony Becht is a free agent and probably won't be brought back next season 3) RB - LaMont Jordan will likely leave so a top backup to Curtis Martin will be needed 4) DL - Mark Simoneau is not a good fit inside and Jeremiah Trotter is a free agent 2) RB - Bringing in a solid, reliable backup to Brian Westbrook is an absolute must 3) DT - Corey Simon is a free agent who may not return and depth is also a concern 4) OT - Jon Runyan isn't getting any younger and overall depth needs to be addressed 5) S - Depth is needed behind the great Brian Dawkins and Michael Lewis -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pittsburgh Steelers Depth Chart 1) OT - Journeyman Roman Oben and 7th round pick Shane Olivea can be upgraded 2) WR - A big, dynamic playmaker would be a welcomed addition to this diminutive corp 3) FS - Bringing in a repacement for Jerry Wilson would complete a fine young secondary 4) DE - Adrian Dingle and Jacques Cesaire are only average at best on one side 5) DT - Depth and insurance behind nose tackle Jamal Williams wouldn't hurt -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- San Francisco 49'ers Depth Chart 1) QB - Tim Rattay and Ken Dorsey might be good backups but they aren't starters 2) OT - With the way the o-line has played it is no wonder the offense has struggled 3) FS - Ronnie Heard is nothing to write home about and is probably little more than a backup 4) DT - Bryant Young is nearing the end of his great career and depth is needed as well 5) RB - To say Kevan Barlow has been a disappointment would be a major understatement -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seattle Seahawks Depth Chart 1) ILB - The team could use a top tackle to replace Warren Sapp next to Booger McFarland 2) WR - Michael Clayton is a star but Galloway, Jurevicius and Brown are about done 3) RB - Michael Pittman has done a nice job he is far from a top runner 4) OLB - Buftex Posted February 21, 2005 Share Posted February 21, 2005 While I mostly agree with the assesment of the Bills needs, I am not sure where they come up with the idea that London Fletcher is starting to look old. I think he is only 29 or 30, and had a terrific season. I thought, in fact, he played better as last season progressed. Where do these guys come up with this crap? That being said, we really don't have any real quality depth at the linebacker position. Guys like Crowell and Stammer seem like they are good solid special teams guys, who might be able to fill in, in a pinch, but not as long term starters, should Fletcher, Spikes or Posey go down. So, I agree ILB is a position that could use some quality depth, but I disagree that Fletcher is looking old. He is what he is, an athletic, fiery player. He can be a liability in the passing game (his game kind of reminds me of Spielman), but he plays his ass off. He cut down the stupid penalties once the team started winning.
