Obviously she couldn't issue public apologies in the middle of her criminal proceedings. IMO, intent should be the most important factor when determining prison sentences. I don't know what benefit anyone gets from locking this dumb girl up for 5 or 10 years. 6 months in prison isn't a picnic; that along with the other conditions seems reasonable for what was essentially a horrible lack of judgement. She killed her in July, and the cops found her on October. Plenty of time to go to the police. I'd read reports saying that she was already at a party again less than a week later.
