They played awesome against Nova, hopefully they can do the same tonite.  Need some more scoring from everyone else, Hak and Mac can only do so much.

Coach B challenged Pace to play better, and he responded Saturday. How he plays down the stretch will be a good indicator how high the tourney seeds (Big East & NCAA) will be be for SU.

If Pace puts up another 21, we'll be fine.

I also like the move of Billy Edelin to the starting line-up--he looks like he's on the verge of returning to form.

Agreed. Someone HAS to take the pressure off Gerry, who too often is asked to be both the 1 and 2 guard. He is much better situated as a scorer/driver, while Billy can set up and run the offense. Gerry hit a few 3's on Saturday where he barely had any space, and was coming off screens. If he continues to concentrate on his shooting instead of his ballhandling, it'll mean nothing but good things.

I agree, Pace has really come on. It looks like he realizes that while he is not the top option and won't be, he still has a valuable role and he filled that well Saturday. As long as one of the big men - Forth, Watkins, Roberts - can have a solid, physical game - that's another plus. Hak is a pencil in for 20 and 10 - just as long as he can shoot the free throws!

Last thing - they need to get out to a big lead tonight. But not like the lead they gave up last month at Pitt. They need to dictate the game and play their style, not let Pitt take it over. They need a 40 minute game, like they had Saturday, not a 25 or 30 minute game like against ND, Rutgers, or Pitt last month (the loss to UConn was IMO a great game by UConn, especially Villenueva).

...well, SU just got broomed by Pitt. 68-64. Was winnable game but Orange let it slip away. Panthers turned up the D in the final 4 minutes and that was the difference.

Nice game from McCroskey. But he didn't get a whole lotta help.

SU's on the roller coaster right now. Hot one game, cold the next.

where was pace and edelin?????? questionable game by the officials, typical big east, call touch fouls, then let it get physical, then go back to calling touch fouls. of course it doesn't help when they are making 3 point shots from downtown central square...anothe great game by a couple of the sophomores(roberts and louie)

A tough night for G-Mac. He was hobbling after rolling his ankle in the 1st half, and the results were ugly (5-of-22, 3-of-14 from 3).

Pace was AWOL. The Orange let Troutman bully them and he was a difference maker with 16 free throws.

Exactly why Pitt is a good candidate to pick to choke in the 1st couple rounds when you're filling out your brackets. The Big East refs are accustomed to their clutch & grab, but when they get refs in the tourney who actually call fouls, they can't play basketball.

However, unlike the Uconn game 'Cuse cannot use that as an excuse. Krauser hit some miracle shots; while Warrick & Pace vanished in crunch-time. With tough road games on the horizon vs. BC & Uconn, they're in danger of finishing 0-5 against the top teams in the conference - Not a good sign. This team really needs to make an uncharacteristic run in the Big East Tourney for me to have any faith in them.

As for Pace - it is clearly more about matchups with him than it is motivation. The guy can play against a smaller defender in man-to-man; but he obviously isn't as effective against a physical defense, or a zone, nor is the whole team in general since nobody can consistently make an outside shot.
