Livinginthepast Posted September 28, 2014 Share Posted September 28, 2014 The Bills O Line was under severe pressure all game, EJ was getting sacked, hurried and hit after he released the ball regularly. They had to know it was going to be like this. So why didn't they make some adjustments for the poor protection? Why no screens or draw plays? Why do they do nothing out of the ordinary to keep the defense guessing? Is Hacket just a poor coordinator with a vanilla offense or is severely limited by EJ in what plays he can run? It may sound like a good "talking point" but this game was lost by poor execution, The Bills ran screens, but the protection was good enough most times. EJM was terribly inaccurate and made an absolute bonehead INT that essentially lost the game when it was there to be had, a real back breaker. You simply do not challenge Watt with that pass. Pull it down and live to fight another play or in that case kick a FG and go up six. The defense was doing well. I did not love Hacketts play calling , especially all the 1st down runs, but this game was winnable and was lost by the QB and WR's misfiring, throwing INT' s , and dropping passes.
