Camp Observations 8/6

Recommended Posts

I finally made the trip out to St. John Fisher College for the first time this year and I just wanted to share some of my observations with my fellow Bills fans!

The Good:

Robert Woods- Had a great one handed catch on a pass from EJ to go along with a great afternoon in general. He's really looking like he has a bright future with us.

Landon Cohen- He impressed in the HOF game and looked very explosive to me today, constantly finding a way to shed blocks. He could push for either a roster spot with us or find himself on another team's roster due to our defensive line depth if he continues to impress.

Duke Williams- Had a very impressive goal line stuff on I believe Booby Dixon. Being another guy who impressed in the HOF game it was great to see him pick up where he left off! I really don't se any reason why he shouldn't be a hard hitting playmaker in our secondary this year.

The Bad:

Scott Chandler- It was a very frustrating afternoon for Chandler consisting of multiple drops, including one would-be touchdown. I'm just going to write it off as rust coming off of his injury for now.

Chris Hogan- Had a couple of drops as well, but I have a feeling that it's going to take many more poor afternoon's for him to play himself off of this roster. 7/11 is safe. It was nice seeing him put in some extra work after practice knowing that he struggled a little bit. He's certainly a very easy guy to root for.

EJ Manuel- I've been a huge EJ supporter since the day we drafted him and still am, but he had a rough afternoon. He continued to be noticeably indecisive while going through his reads and was inconsistent with his accuracy as well, over shooting a wide open Mike Williams in the end zone on one occasion. I like EJ a lot but he still has some work to do before he brings this team back to the playoffs for the first time since '99.

Random Tidbits:

I loved how many players stayed after practice to put in some extra work, including EJ and Tuel throwing passes to 7/11. Others who put in some extra positional work included Robey and Bradham.

I also want to give a shout out to EJ, Sammy, and one of the nicest guys I've met, Dan Carpenter, for staying late and signing several autographs. That was really great of them.

Like that username!

I was reading that it may have been a miscommunication on that missed TD to wide-open Williams.

Bradham seems to be relishing the opportunity he has to start at WLB. Working hard, playing really well last weekend, etc. Too bad he's suspended for the opener.

TDfW...Appreciate the work. I hope the Offense kicks it into gear before opening day.
