Online sports gambling

Clockwork

Recommended Posts

I had a few extra dollars leftover this payday, and decided to hop in. I've never gambled outside of casinos and fantasy football, but I do like to think I have my finger on the pulse of all things sports.

I won my first wager tonight by picking the pirates over the reds. I can see how easily people can get sucked into this, but of course I'll be playing very responsibley.

Does anyone have experience or stories to share about placing wagers online? I'm curious to know how many people are actually doing it

I've never taken part in sports wagering, but I sure as hell miss my online poker!!

(sorry, just had to vent a bit...)

AJ, I still play a little poker at Bovada. My Visa goes through there for small amounts. Not near as good as Partypoker was, but for killing some time in a $ 10 sit and go, it suffices.

I also use Bovada for sports...only pain in da arse is getting paid. I get checks sent(fee for wire) takes a good bit of time. Been meaning to look at other options...maybe someone here uses a better site.

I don't trust them when it's time to get paid. It just seems way too easy to get taken advantage of.

I agree w zepp on the online poker as that was a good time.

I turned 20.00 into 1200.00 on bodog/bovada back in the day.

I second this. I never went the online route but had a couple friends that did & towards the end it was really tough getting paid. Sometimes I believe the wire got blocked. I would just be careful.

One other thing, it is addicting & it could get out of control in a hurry. I speak from experience. One March Madness tournament about 8 years ago the opening Friday of the tournament I lost $1,800 in one day. So make sure you have the means to get involved in this & make sure you can handle it. Not sure if you drink, but over the years I have made the dumbest bets while drinking. Now when I know I will be betting alot on a Saturday & drinking I will put all my bets in the morning before I start drinking. Just a little tip that will save you some money in the long run.

Interesting...I was actually wondering if anyone had found a legit site to play at still. I've also read some articles that indicate there is some movement in terms of individual states loosening the restrictions, and that perhaps some established casinos were close to offering online tables to state residents. Living in Georgia, I'll never see that hit the light of day, so I'm hoping there are some interstate options that come up.

Whenever I think about it I can feel my BP rising...the whole thing was so damn stupid. I miss those days of sitting down at a table on Full Tilt or wherever I was playing that day, seeing people from countries all around the world, using my sit-and-go strategy to turn a simple $5 into $25 in about 20 minutes...eating some taco bell while Rounders or NFL Network is on in the background...good times!

Amazing that we're going on three years and that gold mine still just sits there...just regulate it and let us get back to playing!

If and when they do let us loose again, we gotta have another TBD tourney to celebrate...I'll be happy to coordinate it again...that was a blast!

Nice return! I'll never forget the day I won my first larger tourney...it wasn't huge, maybe about 350 people, low stakes. I ended up with about six bills for the win...but what a great feeling.

Bovada, I always get paid. Like I said, the wires are expensive for the relative modest amounts I get sent back (500-1000)so to wait two or three weeks for the check no worries. Wire is like 40 bucks...

And AJ, Nevada residents can play online now, and possibly jersey. You would think that opens up places that offer non-Indian legal gambling to also offer on line poker, quite possible on one site. Course with the state, and I am sure soon enough the Feds, getting their chop as well.

Get ready for 10 handed $10 sit and go paying out $80 instead of $100.

Funny, my bookie has a website. No more phone calls and he always pays on time. Gotta love technology.

*edit - of course, I'm usually the one doing the paying.

I use Sportsbook.ag. It used to be Sportsbook.com but after the crackdown on poker they switched it.

No real problems with payouts. Just takes about a week.

Good thing is they have all the sports including parleys and propbets. Lastly they have good promos and still have poker. Unfortunately no poker games big enough for my taste.

Nice, that's more movement than I thought then. I saw when Governor Christie signed some legislation opening the door for it in Jersey, so that's great.

And yeah, I'm sure your assessment of the structure is spot on...I'd settle for that, though, cause the sit and go format is my strength. I get in too much trouble at the cash tables.

Buddy I went to the Pats game had the same setup...would love that if I could find in Richmond. That was perfect!

I use Bookmaker.

Just keep a modest amount and play low on many, many games, just trying to keep my bankroll so I dont need to re-up. Play parlays too to swing for the fences a bit. I have had the same bankroll for 2.5 seasons now, which is great and has provided great entertainment.

Agreed on online poker. Goldmine waiting for the tax rolls.

They say NYS could be early in adapting this.
