seadog Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Was reading obituary of former LB Lew Bush. He is the seventh former member of the Chargers 94 Super Bowl team to have died. DT Shawn Lee, LB David Griggs, RB Rodney Culver, LB Doug Miller, C Curtis Whitley, and LB David Mims all dead in late thirties early forties. Griggs was in a car accident, Culver and wife in Value Jet, Doug Miller believe it or not struck by a bolt of lighting twice?
San Jose Bills Fan Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Also, Peter King revisited the 1986 Cincinnati Bengals. He attempted to track down all the living members of the team and reports his findings here.

Hopefully the new rules and playing surfaces will make the game safet long-term for the players. I think the playing surfaces is one thing that people overlook when comparing the injuries of the past to today. Those guys were tough, basically playing on concrete a lot of the time.

Don't know how that's going to address car crashes or lightning strikes, though...
bbb Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Don't know how that's going to address car crashes or lightning strikes, though... Come on - now with all the 300+ pound guys in the league, they make bigger targets for lightning. Duh.
