LGB Posted August 13, 2011 Share Posted August 13, 2011 The Bills have not been able to compete against the Pats in the AFC East in quite some time. For every improvement the Bills make, the Pats seem to counter every year with Belichick adjustments. Will this be the year that the Bills beat the Pats? The Bills own the record for losing the most consecutive times to one team in the history of the NFL and the fact has been that the Bills just need to be able to beat New England if they ever want a whiff of the post-season play. Surely CHIX knows this and by now has made the correct adjustments to compete in the trenches and/or have coached the OL to the point where Buffalo can beat the Pats in 2011. Hey, I'm just as much of a 'win now' guy as anyone, but let's not roast Gailey and Nix after one just season for being behind the Pats. Beating NE will come in time, just like it always does, but they are a good team, well coached, and have a system that's been in place for over a decade. Competing in the division would be good (that would mean better than 4-12 or something like .500) - figuring that the Bills (on average) change their coaching staff every three years, it would be good to have better results sooner rather than later - before we have to "rebuild" again. DYK that Lee Evans has only scored 1 TD against the Patriots despite playing them twice a year for his whole career? I just thought it was interesting to look at the list. I thought that was the case It would be great to break the streak of 15 consecutive loses against the same team in your division and be competitive before another coaching staff is brought in (since it appears that the Bill's change their staff every three years) - Chan might need more time to turn this thing around.
