Albany Times Union article on Buffalo (City)

Recommended Posts

The painfully true part was the mention of the grim Bills not being very attractive!

As for a flourishing arts scene, that helps address quality of life concerns especially if that draws money into the Buffalo area and keeps it there. Money into the area helps but arts money alone obviously isn't enough. The mention of Toronto was interesting while in combination with Rochester and Buffalo. One could have simply highlighted Toronto by itself as having significant economic impact. Although, Buffalo really should better link itself economically to Toronto (not the Bills in the Rogers Center) as the greater Toronto area has upwards of 5.5 million people. I was in Toronto last May and was astounded at how large the city has become. The expansion of U.B. to downtown seems intriguing. Get past Bass Pro. A downtown aquarium mentioned by some might work well but as long as it is done well not second rate like the convention center.

As for the people of Buffalo stop doing things that hurt thyself. Maybe that should come from the mayor, governor etc.!

Overall, the article highlighted the pain and the potential. In sum, it was kind. Buffalo can do a lot better. Buffalo needs to do a lot better.
