SF Tackle Anthony Davis who some fans wanted

For those who wanted to Bills to just pick the next highest rated OT at #9 regardless.

This game was a big step backwards for the 49er offensive line. Anthony Davis, in particular, was victimized repeatedly. Chief pass rusher Tamba Hali got three of the sacks on his own, as he ran around Davis like he was a fire hydrant. The Niners needed to have a tight end chip the edge rusher on Davis' side, every time.

 

 

To add to Davis' miseries, he was flagged for a false start penalty and an unsportsmanlike conduct. He looked totally over matched out there.

I thought I read a thread last week saying how awesome he had been in the first two weeks. He's a rookie. It'll be up and down for a while.

I know the Seattle game he gave up a sack and had a couple of penalties. I didn't notice him the MNF game.

When you have Cornell Green you aren't in much of a position to complain about OT's. Bulaga seems to be doing quite nicely at Green Bay. Oher seems to be doing considerably better than Maybin. Don't worry. We aren't going to start worrying about getting better til next year.

He's backing up Daryn Colledge at guard and Chad Clifton at LT. Bulaga only played because Clifton hurt his knee. In fact Clifton is starting tonite against Chicago.

Goes to show when buddy say it doesn't help draft a player who can't play just to feel better about a position he knows what he is talking about and is following a plan

 

there was really noway to get a qb or a left tackle in that draft without paying a hugh price. Besides maybe just maybe bell will turnout to be useful and teh bills can focus on d front 7 after they figure out the qb situation

Some fans will go to any extent to prove a point. Anthony Davis, playing in his 3rd career NFL game didn't play well. And so someone comes onto the board posting that very report and how it's a good thing Buffalo didn't take him because he had 1 bad game. Goodness gracious.

 

And some fans are ridiculed for having the audacity to point out that Ngata's light years beyond Whitner, or that Maybin was the pick over Oher, Orakpo, Matthews Jr., and Cushing. So who's in the wrong? Meanwhile, the front office is cutting the starting QB of 8 days ago and we're going out of our way to say how bad Anthony Davis is because of one darn game?

 

If the Bills had a track record of success more fans would give them the benefit of the doubt. In the interim, almost every decision they make will be questioned.

Bulaga was rated much much higher on my board. Davis was more of a 2nd round option for Bufallo I thought.

 

Bulaga isnt starting over Tauscher but no one should hold that against him, Tauscher has been a staple on that OL for a decade. When he got in vrs us last week he easily handled all of our guys (which may not be saying that much) but he is a good quality player and will become better. He would have been well worth the 9th overall pick, and the Bills would be a better team with Bulaga blocking for Lynch/jackson/whoever is at QB than the team they are currently.
