I want to go on an Alaskan cruise in a couple years. The one I'm looking at is 14 days and part of it is taking the train like you mentioned. That really sounds like the perfect trip. A neighbor did Alaska by boat and loved it. That coupled with the train would really get you to see it all in 2 weeks. One that leaves from seattle or vancouver and takes the inside passage up the canadian coast would be off the hook. Trains kill a couple hundred moose a year in Alaska.
