Attention Sid Meier's Civilization fans!!

Civilization V is coming out in Fall of 2010!! (or, rather, it's scheduled to  ) I found a screenshot:

New Map View.

Looks like I'm due for a memory and processor upgrade...again...

Can you tell I'm a little excited? I've been playing this series since v.1 and I didn't think it could get any better than v.4. Wrong again, as usual haha

*sigh*

Well, it was fun to be outside for the last couple of years. When Civ V launches, my leisure free time will be gone and I'll be perched in front of the computer again I'm sure.

Love the Civilization games, can't wait to see the technology tree in this game.

Nice, can't wait! I loved Civ II and Civ IV, these games are really addicting. You can play all day and have no concept of time. I'm still playing the Civ IV expansion packs.

Tell me about it, I log at least an hour a night playing BtS on a Gigantic Earth map.

Here's the definitive site for all things Civ:

And specific to Civ V:

"Religion has been altered from its role in Civ 4 however, it is not know in what form it will remain in the game"

I still remember sitting my dorm room playing the original Civ. "Just one more turn," I said to myself. "Just one more turn...." "Just one more turn..." Before I knew it, my roommate was awake and asking if I had been up all night. "Yes..."

Master of Magic was better, but yes, one more turn applied to both games. Good times.

I really enjoyed the religion aspect of Civ IV, I hope it doesn't diminish too greatly in the new one. I've already read that In Civ V, you will only be able to have one military unit occupy a space at a time. Interesting, but maybe too much of a tweak? Also, no release date for Civ V for Mac. :censored:

Oh, man, after looking at some of the stuff on the civfanatics site, I REALLY can't wait for this game. The opposing leaders speak in their own languages? Sweet! That way, when the Krauts beg for mercy at the sharp end of my horde of swordsmen, I can hear it in German? :censored:

Pretty interesting stuff on that civfanatics website. I like the idea of the city states a lot, that should create some fun situations. I also like how the barbarians have their own tech tree, it always did seem unfair when my tanks would discover a barbarian village in CIV 4 on some undiscovered island and they'd still be using clubs against me.

Also, the advisers are back! I love hearing my own staff tell me how crazy I am right before I launch an entire amphibious assault on a continent.

I haven't missed the advisors, really, but back in Civ 2 the military advisor was hilarious. "Give me more soldiers, noble leader that I might tear into the beating heart of the enemy!" Where did Sid find the people to act for those?
