Gaither not on practice field this morning....

Recommended Posts

I would assume that the contract restructuring is the reason the trade didn't happen before the draft. I figure the Bills knew they were going to trade for Gaither so there was no reason to draft a tackle in the first three rounds. That allowed them to work on building the defense. Contract negotiations are always tough with top tier players.

Within the next week, I'd bet Buffalo has traded for Gaither, giving them next years second round pick and a player on the roster at a position of need for the Ravens. McGahee is getting older. Perhaps Lynch might be heading to the Ravens as well.

First of all. the Ravens were reportedly willing to take a 2nd for him and no one stepped up. Why would we offer more? And why the strong desire to dump Lynch? He admittedly had a down year last season but is still a quality back. As for his off-field stufm, it is fairly minor considering some others. The guy is a kid that grew up in the Hood and now has had a financial wind fall. He has made some poor choices but seriously! Think back to when you were his age, now give youself several millions to play with. Only a nun would be able to resist.

This is why...

NOTES: OT Jared Gaither did not practice Saturday, one day after being shifted to the right side. Oneil Cousins took the first-team snaps in his place. Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron said Gather was in the training room being treated for a variety of injuries.

Do ya still want him now?

Something does not seem right...I would bet he is going to be a Buffalo Bill by mid-week!

jared gaither is here and receiving treatment in the training room seemed fine yesterday

Cam Cameron didn't specific on Jared Gaither's injury issues, but said it's more than one thing. Didn't know if he'll practice Sunday

If THIS is possible, I would think Buddy Nix is GOD...

Bills RCB Leodis McKelvin is reportedly unavailable for a potential Jared Gaither trade.

Rumors of a Gaither-to-Buffalo trade persist. Adam Schefter shot down a report of a second-rounder going to Baltimore, and we've also seen one scenario that has Ashton Youboty going to the Ravens. McKelvin, however, is staying put.

More likely Youboty and fourth or fifth rounder for Gaither. JMO. If it was Youboty for Gaither you're right Nix should be HOF'ed instantly.

Perhaps Buddy let the teams that drafted OT in the first round take themselves out of the running for Gaither, lessening the competition for his services...

excellent point. that is a benefit to having had those teams all pick up and spend big money on LTs (unproven rookies at that) . If he could land Gaither at 6-7mil per for 4 years, that be cheaper and better then getting and unproven commodity in the draft, though we'd likely be giving up a 3rd as well....
