Pulling a Positive Out of This Season

The AFC East is now very human and no longer one-sided. NE has come down to earth and it looks like we might have seen their best. Both the Jets and Dolphins have some holes and don't scare anyone. 10-6 and maybe even 9-7 will take the division this year.

The AFC East could be wide open for the next few years.

Agreed! The chasm is really not big. We've played our division very tough with the exception of the 1st Miami game.

We can beat all three so that is encouraging. As horrible and as many deficiencies as this team has we have been in games. If we get a QB that can produce and hit open guys and limit the amount of three and outs our defense automatically gets better and our ST is better with better field position. In today's NFL you are really only a couple of players away.

I really agree with that statement and hate all of the people who say it will take another 2-3 years max for the Bills to be competitive again. All you need is a good personnel team and an off season. Look at the Dolphins, they were a 1-15 mess and Parcells came in and put that organizational structure in place and they are a solid franchise again.

Miami went from 1-15 in 2007 to 11-5 and a division crown in 2008 after a change in management. I will always have hope for next season no matter how bad this season goes. With free agency & bold thinking, with an open checkbook, anything is possible.

Buffalo hasn't had a personnel department since John Butler departed. Butler wasn't perfect, but he had an idea of how to put together a football team. It's a big "if" that RW/Brandon find a solid GM who gets good pro personnel and amateur scouting directors in place for the off-season.

Wayne Huizenga owned the Dolphins when they went 1-15. He hired Parcells late in the season to overhaul the football side of the team. Huizenga, like RW, is a successful businessman and not a football guy. The difference is Huizenga is smart enough to know he can't manage football operations. RW thinks he can.
