Glazer on teams moving to LA

Recommended Posts

just heard jay Glazer on Meyers and hartman and they asked him which NFL team is a good candidate to fill the new LA Stadium. He said the Jags "must be at the top of the list " cited lack of attendance. Then said Oakland or Minnesota if they dont get a new stadium. Interesting said there is a rumor Tiger Woods wants to buy the Raiders and move them to LA hmmmmmm... anyway NO MENTION OF THE BILLS!!!! :P

I think most people are backing off on the Bills/LA nonsense since there are so many other teams out there that are more likely to go there, and if the bills get moved ANYWHERE, it is going to be Toronto. And the good thing for us is that it is probably harder to move a team to Toronto than it would be to move one to LA.

The bills really depends on WHO ends up buying it. The list of canidates shouldn't be that big, since not many people have the money to buy a team.

But the people that want to buy the bills and move them to toronto would have an uphill battle if they really wanted to move the bills there

1) Toronto is in Canada, forcing a lot of redtape just get things going. If you want a player, coach, or anyone to to just come in for an interview, they would need a passport. not all that great of a thing

2) The CFL is already there, and they are very vocally against the idea of the NFL coming into Toronto.

3) Can an NFL team get a real fan base in Toronto? that is a serious question, and is it worth gambleing a lot of money just to find out?

4) How would the NFL feel about this? I mean, sure, it seems ok having a couple games a year played out of the country. But moving that to 8 games? Not only for the bills, but the opposing teams, if they have a felony under their belt, they won't be able to make the ride there. It will complicate things, and just upset coaches and maybe owners too who pay for players to play, and aren't able to play when they should be.

If they want to move the team to Toronto, they will have a lot of hurdles to jump over.

After the bad press the NFL got for approving the moving of the Browns, there is no way they are going to allow another small market team that has such a dedicated fan base like the Bills.....barring a major catastrophe. As everyone here should know, today's NFL hates negative press and bad PR.

Living here in Youngstown, OH, I can tell you that the backlash over the Browns' move was significant. Advertisers, for probably the first time in history, pulled their advertising from just about everything NFL related in this region. Didn't last long, but I think the negative press and bad PR was enought to make the NFL take notice.
