Biscuit was a pretty good soldier too. Not many remember that after a slew of injuries at inside backer, that he spent two seasons playing somewhat out of position on the inside simply because he was asked to by the coaching staff.

:worthy:

Not sure what you are talking about, unless you are confusing the time when the Bills D suffered numerous injuries to both LB and DL positions. In effort to put the best 7 guys up front, Corey switched up to a 2-5 defense, and threw CB into the middle.

This was a variation of the 2-5 defense the Rams had run/ran (devised by Shumur).

Sacks equals big money contracts and the move inside would not have helped him in his next contract discussion. He did it for the team.

IIRC, CB made it quite clear and known he was not happy playing in the middle, and the only reason he did it was due to the unusual circumstances (inuries).

Buffalo News Article

I still remember the first Bills game he played a few days later.

It's the first series of the game Denver, has the ball. In the middle of the series, the Bills substitute, putting in Biscuit. He lines up behind Bruuuuuce, Elway looks up, sees him and immediately calls time. The place went nuts.

Ah back when we had a GM worth a damn

With Smith on one side and Bennett on the other you could smell the QB's poop after every snap. :rolleyes:

it was another huge piece to the puzzle... I remember thinking with Conlan already aboard on the inside, now they bring this guy Bennett in, with an improving Bruce Smith... had quite the makings on D... and remember how great the '88 defense was.

The Blizzard Defense :worthy::doh:
