Mr inconsistent is back.  I know some fans love him,but I don't get why other then we drafted him.

He’s continued to improve, and many believe he needs more opportunity to reach his potential. I’m in the hopeful segment of fans who see the flashes and hope he continues to improve.

So far this is going better than I thought, thought I would be getting a bit of disagreement haha

I think it’s pretty obvious this team lacks elite talent, but I’m sure you’ll find some who think otherwise.

17 is carrying this team in a big way.

Locked On and Cover1 are by far the best Bills podcasts.

Until we start Two Bills Drive Live. I need a co-host, who’s with me?

Hahaha… that would be train wreck gold right there, just rotate in different posters weekly. I think you’re onto something lol.

Yes, I believe most of what Florio says. I believe he is far and away the best NFL reporter there is. His law background and sources within the NFL give him a big advantage in my opinion. He routinely is proven right. Leagues above guys like Breer and Schefter who only pass along news that is given to them due to a quid-pro-quo relationship (meaning they also pass along agendas and false info).

Florio on the other hand has called out that mucky relationship that reporters often have and has upset the NFL numerous times on his reporting of factual information that other sources wouldn’t give (because they don’t want to be shut out). This type of reporting is what made him famous. He was just a lawyer doing football as a side gig in his basement but his site became extremely popular over time because he exposed truth that most other reporters wouldn’t dare. Eventually he got so huge that NBC bought a stake in what he was doing, which is why you see NBC Pro Football Talk now.

The main reason some don’t like Florio is because he DOES pontificate a lot. And sometimes his preaching (which can become annoying) involves opinions that can sound anti-Bills or anti-whatever-team that the person may like. These fans don’t want to hear opinions of reporters - they just want facts. BUT, at least when Florio does his pontificating, he never passes it off as fact. He says outright that he is giving an honest guess. He doesn’t pretend that it’s true. So when he passes along a piece of information that he says is fact, I believe him. Because he does a good job of delineating between his guesses and what he knows for sure. And he often ends up being proven right.

He’s a 3rd hand information reporter, he’s a pundit, he’s no different than the Nick Wright’s or Mike Greenberg’s of the NFL landscape.

If you want to respect the guy for creating a successful business from his basement, that seems fair, but he’s an arrogant, smug little pr*ck who loves to remind everyone he was a lawyer like that’s something to envy.

There’s an endless supply of opinions, he’s not reinventing the wheel, although I do like to hit up PFT for quick headline news, I find it to be up to date and accurate for the most part, but listening to his “I’m the smartest guy in the room” rants and takes with Chris Simms is a hard pass.

Chris Simms should actually look to breakaway from that douche and go his own way, he’s much more personable and actually has some relationships with current and past players he could lean on.

Wow you sure sound paranoid.  I follow the Bills religiously   And I try and stay on top of the rest of the NFL as much as I can.  Who is bashing the Bills?  We have done well the past 6-7 years.  Have a great QB.  And an overall exciting team.  And a great fan base. But we haven’t played in the Super Bowl.  And our head coach is a pretty bland guy. And KC has won 3.  And played in 4 in the past 5 years.  So of course they will get props.  Colin Cowherd always give us props.  And so do many others who aren’t just fixated on black QB’s.

I just worry about what the team is doing to improve in the offseason and how we are building our team.  Also what other teams are doing.  Because I just love the NFL. And like to be in the know.  I don’t listen to all the jibber jabber because I don’t think it matters.

There are 31 other teams in the NFL. And we’ll over 100 D1 college teams.  I like to talk w fans from other teams than nine. (Bills and Michigan Wolverines) and get their take on things.  Most respect the Bills and the Wolverines, as they should.  So I don’t know where all this paranoia is coming from.  When we win the Super Bowl we will be the king of the castle.  And that is how it should be.

lol paranoid ? The thread was about the media coverage and I gave my take, of course there’s a difference between the average football fans take on the Bills and the media take, that’s the point.

If the media were telling the story of an underachieving playoff team due to it’s overrated head coach and lack of elite level talent and bad luck, then most average fans wouldn’t bat an eye or even notice. Having the media talking about Allen’s inability to beat Mahomes on almost every Bills segment is nauseating.

The Bills are in this position to get piled on because they are a contender, so I get why, I’d just like to see more in depth reality as to the reasons why and not just Allen can’t beat Mahomes.

I was responding to the fella who said comp picks have slim to none chance of contributing. Naturally, a 4th round comp can make a difference, but what folks are unhappy about is losing the 3rd round comp, and in those terms, the individual that was dismissive of them was essentially saying it's no big deal, because comp picks in general don't matter.

Anyway, if you find that humorous, have at it. Seems to me the loss of a day 2 pick, even at the end of the third round, makes it harder for Beane to maneuver. The real blow is that folks were led to believe the formula was sufficiently understood, and that the 3rd was a safe assumption.

I agree a 3rd is better than a 4th, and it makes it slightly more difficult to obtain the players they’ve coveting, but this is no excuse for Bean not to get this roster right for September.

A 3rd round comp pick is not negligible. Sure as hell isn't slim to none.

Yet another poster is saying the 4th rounders are really 5th rounders and the draft drops off after the 3rd lol

picks are lottery tickets and they lost 30 spots, not the end of the world and certainly shouldn’t alter Bean’s final destination, maybe just how he gets there.

  8. I would have no problem with the constant reminders of Bills playoff failures if they reported the reasoning truthfully, but they do not.

It feels like the Bills are the only team fuc*ing things up every season if you listen to the media, the rest of the teams who either don’t make the playoffs, don’t win their division or lose in the playoffs are just given a free reset by the media and treated as though their failures didn’t happen or don’t matter.

If you didn’t actually watch the league and just watched the media coverage, you’d come away thinking the Bills are a mediocre loser franchise. I’m guessing the media outlets and pundits are aware the mafia engagement rises with negativity and the rest of the leagues fan bases love to hear how this dominant franchise with it’s elite QB haven’t won anything and most likely won’t in the future, it’s a win win for the media.

Poyer's issue was lack of opportunity (and then when he did get it his last year in Cleveland injury struck). Hyde's issue in Green Bay was his versatility hurt him. Wherever a guy went down they'd move Hyde there so he never got to shine in a single spot - but he was always an excellent player and I said so the day he was signed here.

I just think it is so obviously a schematic thing with Elam that he isn't in the same conversation as those other guys. And even more than that it is transitions. The mechanical awkwardness moving from vertical to lateral and moving from backpedal to close and vice versa. It makes being a good zone defender really hard. If that was an easy fix I think it would have happened by now.

That’s plenty of guesswork, nobody will know until he gets extended playing time, with this organization or another.

I’ll take a guess as well, Elam wasn’t a scheme fit as you suggested, the Bills coaches believed he could be coached up but unfortunately he struggled with the transition while at the same time Benford fit like a glove.

These circumstances caused Elam to become frustrated and butt heads with his position coach thus stunting his development.

    A guess is a guess.

  10. I watch him on the field make plays and wonder what he is or isn’t doing inside the building to cause his lack of opportunity.

Elam’s position coach is replaced and stories of him and Elam not getting along surface, and it’s starting to make sense.

I don’t have a good handle on Elam’s ability to start week to week because we haven’t seen it, I do know he makes plays in big games.

Exactly! Kelce was going to go off regardless. He did it the following week against a very good safety as well.

That’s why I think it would not have mattered if Milano played in that game. Our offense had the ball with a chance to win at the end. That’s where it was lost. Hopefully the team will address that scenario this offseason and be back better when that opportunity presents itself again.

I 100% agree Milano or any other LB isn’t stopping Kelce, that being said it would be nice to have the defense as a whole play up to their regular season performances in January and February and not have to rely on the offense to score 30. The Bengals and KC defenses get better in the playoffs and McDermott’s D gets worse.

If you’re saying that’s not realistic for LB’s to do then why did most everyone here blamed AJ Klein for Kelce going off this last game? If an all pro like Milano can’t be expected to keep up with Kelce, your inference, then why would anyone think AJ Klein should be able to?

I never said anything about Klein, if anybody is thinking Klein should be covering Kelce in man coverage they should be put on time out by the mods, that’s ridiculous.

Its definitely not realistic, Kelce is arguably the GOAT at his position and LBs just aren’t equipped to cover him in man so far down the field, heck it’s a very tough ask to cover him in any fashion for any player.

This is the kind of contract structure that keeps Bills at a cap disadvantage. Dead money tied to aging players.

Yeah I vividly remember him giving up a TD trying to cover Kelce in the 13 sec game. If only he was available to provide an encore to that remarkable performance.

Yeah because LBs are covering Kelce 25 yards off the line of scrimmage in man coverage.

    Milano is a bum !!!!
