  1. The next 7 games of the Bills season:

    10/12 - vs. NE*

    10/19 - vs. MIN

    10/26 - @ NJJ

    11/9 - vs. KC

    11/13 - @ MIA (Thursday Night)

    11/23 - vs. NJJ

    11/30 - vs. CLE

My outlook on the schedule has shifted significantly as the season has progressed, and looking at the next seven games, I do not see a game that we are not more than capable of winning. Could the Bills possibly be unbeaten in October and November? I am not making a guarantee or prediction in any way, but see it as a distinct possibility.

Which of these teams truly scare you? I don't see a game that makes me go, "Jeez... that's gonna be a tough one," until we play @ DEN on 12/7.

The Bills, if they play to their talent level, could exit November with a 10-2 record... hell, even if they fall to NE this weekend, 9-3 after 12 games looks like something good to me. They are then @ DEN (tough to beat Manning, especially at home), vs. GB (this team is tough, but who knows how they may be impacted playing in a raucous Ralph), @ OAK (the worst team in the league, nuff said), and @ NE* (could be a pivotal game with the division on the line).

Supposed the bills split the last 4, or even go 1-3... this season could be something spectacular, boys and girls.

    GO BILLS!

    - edited to correct for omitted asterisk on the last mention of NE*

I hope he is right. I don't agree this is the right time to bench EJ as I feel he showed enough in 14 games to warrant more time to develop, however, come Sunday I just want the Bills to win. I don't care who the QB is as much as I care about us just winning. So come Sunday, Orton will have my full support even though I don't have a lot of faith he will fare much better. This division is definitely up for grabs right now and we have enough talent to win it for sure. I am still not sure who is better suited to lead us there at QB as we have not seen Orton play yet, but if we can just stabilize the QB situation we can definitely win this division.

That being said, my biggest concern is still Hackett. He seems to force is offense on the players rather building one around the strengths of the players. Hopefully Orton fits his offense well because I have almost no faith Hackett will adjust or call a smart game plan. I hope he proves that wrong, but I just have not liked his poor adjustments, his situational play calls, or how he is using some of our playmakers like CJ. And I also hope Orton can get rid of the ball quick like Watkins spoke of earlier, because the All 22 tape is ugly on how bad we have been pass blocking.

I don't think we can really judge Hackett's game plans yet. I admit, the decision to throw as much as we did in Houston is a question mark, but judging by how many times receivers were running open and we're either missed or not even looked at, I think it could have been very successful had it been executed properly.

If we see better, or even just competent, execution from the quarterback position moving forward with Orton, Hackett's play calling and game planning will be much easier to judge.

He had his receivers in a position to succeed in a pass heavy game plan in Houston, but the limitations at the quarterback position sabotaged it from under center.

  3.

Seeing all of those receivers running free down the field and watching the QB dump it off to the RB or short outlet every time makes me feel sick to my stomach. The Houston game shouldn't have been close. Just make the throws to the open guys running wild down field and the points would have been piling up.

  4. EJ could also end up being the better QB over the course of the season too.

EJ may just be struggling in the dreaded sophomore slump! Tell me you never heard good players struggling in their sophomore season??? (yes it does happen).

I've always been one to want a player to have ample time to prove himself. Sorry 14 games doesn't cut it.

EJ can win, EJ just cannot win every game AND that is what a lot of the Anti EJ's want to see happen. Win every game. that my friend is unrealistic.

The very idea of a "sophomore slump" implies performance at a high level in the "freshman" campaign. Seeing as EJ showed very little in his 1st season, the concept of a sophomore slump cannot apply. EJ has not shown the ability to be a successful starting quarterback in the NFL. Perhaps with some grooming and studying from the bench and significant improvement in his mechanics without the pressure to win on his shoulders, he can be successful. I just don't see it happening or him developing sufficiently in live action at this time.

In fairness, I've been lobbying TBD to start up a kind of fashion forum sponsored by, say, Abercrombie and Fitch so you guys can have free reign to discuss bedazzling your uniforms. Scott says the demand isn't there, but I beg to differ. I bet a bunch of you guys are just dying to swap beads to match the different colors on the uniform collar.

You don't need to bash people just because power rankings aren't your thing. The only thing you succeeded in doing with this post is make yourself look like kind of a prick. You may not be one, I don't know you personally, so I can't make an informed decision on that point, but come on.

The title of this thread is "Power rankings thread." If you don't have any interest in the subject matter that is clearly denoted in the thread title, then why did you click on it? Do you just get a thrill from being a message board tough guy and insulting people whose interests don't completely align with yours? Get over yourself. If you see a thread title indicating that the discussion is about something you don't care for, move on. Don't join the discussion just to insult people.

To each his own. There are plenty of other threads to read. I could pass judgment and insult people over a number of opinions and interests on this board, but I have enough respect for others to let them carry on with their lives and save my ire for those who makes themselves feel bigger by bullying others with the type of BS you decided to add to this thread.
