  1. I was stationed in Hawaii from 92-95 and being the resourceful Marine that I am, a buddy and I scammed press passes to the Pro Bowl in 93 & 94. We contacted NFL headquarters in NYC and told them we worked for the base newspaper and requested to have credentials for the game. We had practice passes all week at Aloha Stadium and sideline and locker room passes on game day. It was awesome. Got my picture with Steve Tasker, Thurman, Bruce, Andre and Kelly. I had them all blown up and got them autographed the next day. I got Kelly on a football but not the picture. He didn't make the Pro Bowl that year but was there during the media day. I've also had dinner in Hawaii with Howard "House" Ballard and met Nate Odomes and Henry in at the 92 Pro Bowl.

    What a great time...

Oh, and I used my Marine status to get in real good with all the cheerleaders too..... :P

I was stationed in Hawaii in 2000-2001. I actually did work for the base paper, the Hawaii Marine, and therefore got a sideline pass for the game. I was able to briefly meet Eric Moulds, he seemed like a really nice, down to earth guy.

And yes, apparently cheerleaders do love Marines...

  2. If the Rams were to take Ghoulston then that would really put a whole different spin on the first several picks of the draft. I'm going to take a shot on what it might look like. See if this would sound right, if not adjust it accordingly.

    Miami- DE Chris Long

    St Louis- DE Vernon Ghoulston

    Atlanta- QB Mat Ryan

    Oakland- RB Darren McFadden

    Kansas City- OT Jake Long

    Jets- CB Leodis McKelvin

    Patriots- DE Derrick Harvey

    Baltimore- DT Glenn Dorsey

    Bengals- DT Sedrick Ellis

    Saints- CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

    Buffalo- WR Devon Thomas

How do you like me now

  3. wow marshawn seems like a really cool guy and a funny and caring kind of person, i guess he doesnt have character issues and he was my favorite player on the offense last year when JP wasnt in,haha screw Willis. Last year everytime Marshawn would score i would say Willis who?who? haha

    GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Stroud for Pro Bowl 2008

Each time Marshawn would break a tackle or fight for a few extra yards last season, the standard response from the group of Bills fans I watch the game with was: "Willis never would've done that."

  4. Wow so what I am getting is that no one knows why they root for him, it is just something fun to do. Ok well I will root for someone who knows what the inside of the white lines looks like. While some like the "athletes" outside the lines.

Watch your mouth!! The CHROISE will prevail, the CHROISE always prevails!!

  5. I think the more frustrating argument was with the people who somehow thought the way the Bills developed JP was a perfectly acceptable way to develop a young QB.

Its something the team needs to change, or we'll be having thse same arguments in 2009 with Edwards and <insert next savior here>

I do have to agree, JP was in a bad situation with a bad leadership group(read: TD and Fairchild). I hope he excels wherever he ends up. Unfortunately, I think it is too late to salvage him in Buffalo. I feel for the guy, he got a raw deal. Lets just hope the folks at OBD have learned their lesson about supporting(or not supporting) a young QB. I'd love to see Trent developed in a better situation.

  6. I do agree that bashing somebody's character or personality is a bit rough. But, in my short time on TBD, I have not seen alot of that. What I primarily see is people questioning his ability to lead the team to success.

Statements made by posters(myself included), questioning his ability as an NFL quarterback are not attacks at him personally, they are simply the expression of an opinion. So far, we have seen little to show us that he is the quarterback of the future for this team.

When I say TE should be our starting QB, it doesn't mean I don't like JP as a person or feel he shouldn't remain in Buffalo as a backup. It means I feel that Trent give our team the best chance of success.

When I express my opinion that JP should be traded, it isn't a personal attack either. I just feel that we could be in a better position if we trade him this season and get something for him(because I feel he could be a valuable backup anywhere in the league) rather than just letting his contract expire at the end of the season and losing him through UFA and getting nothing in return. If you think about it, that is a sign of respect, he has a solid value IMO and we should use that to improve our team in other ways.

I have been a bills fan my entire life. I have celebrate the good times and struggled through the bad times just like everybody else. JP is a good person and a very respectable man, but I want to see this team winning again, and I don't think he's the guy to make that happen.

So don't assume that when we say JP isn't the guy that we are disrespecting him, his character and his performance on the field are completely unrelated. Bills fans just want their team to be great again.

  7. With the schedule is coming out on April 3rd who do you think the Bills opening day home opponent will be? We've got the Dolphins, Jets, Patriots*, Chargers, 49ers, Raiders, Seahawks and Browns coming to Buffalo this year.

I'm thinking Browns for some reason - and I'm looking forward to going already!!

I'd like to see Al's band of merry misfits(and now multi-millionaires). I live in the bay area and get entirely too sick of Raiders fans running their mouths off. A quick "51-3" usually shuts them up, but if they get killed opening day, that may prevent them from opening that useless hole in their faces from the get go.
