  1. When you are 16 years old, pretty new to drinking at the time, kill a whole bottle of cheap vodka at a beach party with a bunch of friends, are camping out on the beach in a massive tent, and later proceed to sleep walk to the corner of said tent in the middle of the night, whip out your junk, and take a piss inside the tent with about 5 or 6 other people sleeping in it.

Not one of my proudest moments.

  2. I am a die hard Red Sox fan. Going to fenway park is on my bucket list. I have always been interested in American history. So, what better place than Boston?

Thanks Chef, at least this advice is for something good. Is there any hotels anyone can recomend in the back bay? Is a safe area? I will probably be going by myself, so I would want a hotel in a area with stuff for a guy to do. Thanks everyone.

The Mandarin Oriental and The Fairmont Copley Plaza are both very, very nice. Pricey, but nice. I've gotten lucky in the past using Priceline.com and found myself getting cheap rooms at both of those hotels. I'm a huge Sox fan myself, and trust me, just being at Fenway Park for a ballgame and walking around Yawkey Way and Lansdowne before it starts makes the trip well worth it no matter what else you do.

my wife loves Boston after our last visit. i hated it. overpriced rooms. overpriced beers. hotel staff pointing us to a chain restaurant. too many touristy spots. Cheers, really? getting lost 12 times. silly, precious wharf area. Legal Seafoods, blech: service was terrible, food just as bad.

now, the North End was good, particularly Regina's pizza.

but, to me, it came off as a town that comes off as feeling superior, without any real reason to feel superior about itself, perhaps, kinda like a Toronto with a better history.

took 3 days to find a $3 beer, and trust me, i looked. wasn't until we were tipped off to some upstairs joint that didn't have a name that we finally found something.

    bah!

left me with a real bad taste.

of all the places i've visited in the U.S., from Key West to Seattle, Bangor to San Diego, Boston ranks as my absolute worst. ... oh wait, nearly forgot: Wilmington, NC.

I'll concede that the hotels are pretty damn overpriced, but you face that in virtually any big city. Particularly Boston though, since it is smaller than New York and therefore doesn't have as many options hotel-wise. I think the dining is fairly priced and out of this world. I would stay away from Legal Seafood. It's just okay, more of a chain. Some of the best seafood I've ever had in my life has been in Boston, though. Island Creek Oyster Bar, Neptune Oyster and Pauli's are great in the North End. Atlantic Fish Company in Back Bay is very good. Also a couple along the waterfront (Which is an excellent area to be) that I can't recall the names of. Try those local choices rather than Legal.

Overall, I find Boston to have a very similar feel to Chicago, another city I absolutely love. Scaled-down versions of New York City with more college-like atmospheres, unique cuisine and historical hot spots. I love the feeling of being in a "Big" city, yet still being able to get away from the hustle and bustle without actually being away from it. I think Boston provides that.

  3. I like staying in the Back Bay. From there you can walk or take the T. If your primary concern is cost, use a site like priceline.

Yep. I'm a Boston vet, and the Back Bay is by far my favorite area to stay. Lots to do and see, great restaurants and bars, easy to get to Fenway. I love the Back Bay area.

  4. Same old Bills FO. Losers! Don't even have the grit to fight to the end to get something out of Byrd in trade, just let him walk away smirking and flipping us the Bird!

UGH. What the hell leverage did the Bills had to trade Byrd when every other team knows that he wants out, not to mention the fact that they would then have to sign him to a long-term deal?!?!?!? Did you want to get a 5th rounder for him instead of a potentially much higher compensatory pick?!?!?!? I'm going to need therapy after 15 minutes of this thread.

  5. Nope. I don't think he'll much more than what the Bills offered.

Joe Buscaglia just said the offer probably raised eyebrows throughout the league. If he thinks he's getting much more, I think he'll be surprised.

I think you're right. The bottom line is that Byrd is a very good player, not a great player. Earl Thomas is a great player at the position. As were Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu for a good chunk of their careers. Byrd isn't quite on that level. NFL teams know this.

  6. Whaley is a !@#$ing idiot and needs to be fired. You don't let a guy like him just walk. The tag is there for a reason.

If he isn't going to take a deal to stay here that may have made him the highest paid safety in the league, what the hell makes you think he'd even play under a tag???? They didn't tag him because they must (correctly) think that they can get a good compensatory pick from him for whatever other team pays him a boatload of money.

  7. I call fake

Why? Large constricting snakes like Pythons have been known to take down alligators and crocodiles over the years. Including in Florida's Everglades. They have a big time Burmese Python issue there right now. They're killing everything.

  8. I'll go with a few of the guys many Bills backers think are in play for us...

Sammy Watkins - A slightly smaller version of Andre Johnson.

Greg Robinson - Tyron Smith (Yeah, he's going to be good).

Eric Ebron - Vernon Davis with a little less speed. Many of the same traits, though.

    Jake Mathews - Jordan Gross.

Khalil Mack (Don't think there's a chance in hell he's there, but just for fun) - Terrell Suggs.

I like your Vincent Jackson comp for Evans, Biscuit. Right on.

  9. This was going to be next point above but I will put it down here. It appeared to be a down year for defense in the SEC this year. Spread offenses have jumped ahead of defenses. Alabama was the only team in the conference that didn't give up 20+ points/game this last year. Meanwhile every team except Florida(!) averaged at least 20 points/game.

I'm a big time Bama fan and therefore avid SEC follower, and it was definitely a down year for defense in 2013. Even Bama's was not quite as good as years past. LSU was awful compared to the handful of years before that, as was Florida. The second best defense in the SEC was probably Missouri's, and we all saw what Auburn did to them. BAD year for SEC defenses, for sure.

  10. So many times this past season, the Bills Offense hit a wall in the red zone. I think having Mike Evans as a red zone threat would be a HUGE benefit to us. That said, I wouldn't take him at #9. I'd like either Mack or Barr to shore up our run defense (my top priority). If both are gone, then CB Dennard to boost our secondary. If he falls to #41 I'd snap him up, if not perhaps the safety Pryor is there. It's a big draft class and anything can happen.

    May seems so far away!

Two things you mentioned have zero chance of happening - The Bills will not draft a corner back with their first pick and there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Mike Evans is there in the 2nd round.
