  1. Buffalo is and always has been a dumb organization and now they have an undisciplined head coach who prefers thugs as players to smart guys. The Incognitos and Jerry Hughes of the NFL will always let you down when it counts and so will the Ryans. I consider Whaley an aberration who could probably bring Buffalo success in the long run, but will likely either be fired soon or be burdened with hollowheads like Rex Ryan as head coaches until he is fired. Then we'll hire another dumb GM. The cycle continues. .

  2. The D is frustratingly weak against the run. Seems like anyone can burst up the middle for 10-20 yards several times a game. They are missing Kyle Williams, obviously, but it is more poor linebacker play than anything else that results in missed tackles on a regular basis. We need to address this next year in the draft and free agency. Meanwhile, the D is going to cost us the playoffs more than likely.

Didn't Ryan boast that he would turn a #4 D into a #1? Right now, i think they rank below #1, or rather, they ARE rank.

  3. Roman was at the top of his game today (and needed to be with Ryan's D). His only glaring issue is third and five (or thereabouts). This usually calls for a short pass over the middle or a swing pass to a RB, but Tyrod can't throw the first and Roman never calls the second.

Gotta give him huge props, however, for his game plan today. Tyrod's chemistry on long balls with Sammy is a lethal weapon that opens up the ground game.

  4. I hate to say it but I think the Jets O will shred this Bills D. It falls on Rex. He doesn't get in theses guys faces when they commit stupid penalties so why would they care about discipline or Accountability for their actions. I hope I'm dead wrong but I see the Chan Gailey Led Jet's O shredding this D for 400 + yards and 28 points. I am not a fan of Rex's complete disregard for discipline.

Gotta agree with everything here. Sad thing is, the loser of this game is probably out of playoffs. Ryan needs to show more than he has so far. Maybe he is saving his Defensive gems for his old team.

The Dolphins just ran as much of their offense wide as possible.

Have people not seen enough of Rex D to know that the intent is to congest the middle of the field with defenders?

Running everything wide yesterday took the DE's out of the play and forced downhill LB's like Brown and Bradham to go sideways and they aren't really athletic enough to make those plays in space.

Not sure why so many people insist on remaining in denial about this.

Expecting those guys to cover the field sideline to sideline is like expecting your cover corner to make 10 tackles per game in run support.

Bradham and Brown were not elite draft prospects for a reason......they are limited athletically.

Schwartz D funneled the run TO them.....where they could just fill the gap and do what they do....stop runners head on.

In the event that teams tried to run wide......DE's were either there to help or had already forced the play backwards/wider which made it easier for Brown/Bradham to play catch up.

The answer to this thread question is YES!!!!!!! This scheme is putting 8-9 players in lesser positions of impact on every snap.

    It's ugly and incredibly wasteful.

    Good post.
