The Saints have 117 rushing yards in the 1st half and the Bills only had the ball for a min and 39 seconds more despite getting the ball to start the game. I'm not going to stick up for the Offense in the 2nd quarter because it was a mess... But letting that Saints team run through you like that only keeps the ball away from the league MVP longer and gives him less chances to put the game away early. Field position has also been a factor. The turnover comes at the goal line. The dumb penalty on Bishop's return backs them up. This team is not built on Offense for Josh to go out and just sling it around. That's how these games get like this... The Defense allows these long drives because they basically suck, and our Offense is a ball control Offense that does not want to push the ball down the field. So if the Defense can't stop these long drives... it's going to be ugly...

Ya... It's called play the Bills...

I mean... He can say that... But how exactly does that Defense of his look any different than the past year plus?

The Defense ain't gonna get it done folks... The early signs this season are well beyond troubling.

Knowing this, and knowing we were at home...night game...crowd noise...Bosa had just gone insane vs the Jets... I thought we were going to have a BIG game rushing Tua. I did notice some double teams upfront last night on 3rd downs that bought Tua some time and allowed the breakdowns in the secondary, but no question we are getting next to nothing from Groot and Sanders... They are just not taking advantage of almost any opportunities when they get them. One thing I paid close attention to on the Cover 1 all-22 breakdown of the Baltimore game is how the Bills D and it's attacking design really only flourishes when players beat their blocks AND make the tackle/sack. The Bills are mostly getting blocked, and even when they are not they are missing too much...getting up field too far, bouncing off ball carriers... It's just such a mixed bag right now...

At the end of the day a W is a W... This game could have easily been a blow out with a play here or there going our way and Miami had to come up with their best effort to keep it close. Give the Fish credit. They had a good game plan, adjusted well, and played like a team should with their season on the line. No one cares about the Bills problems. But Beane's plan was to have Oliver, Hoecht, Ogunjobi, Milano, and his 1st Round Pick Max Hairston on the field tonight. Plus it's a short week against a Division opponent that knows you a little better. I think on Offense Brady got a little stubborn on 1st down and there was a point in the 2nd half where the fish were not going to let Cook beat them. Missed a FG and still won by 10... Next...

We started this game with our HC asleep on a play that was about as clear a challenge play as you're going to get on a 3rd down and he lets it go... We allow 3rd down after 3rd down conversion on the drive before half. Then we get 2 consecutive stops by our Defense that is pretty clearly struggling and we send them right back out on the field... I mean... We're asking for it...
