And like i said in multiple posts in this thread, we don't know anything about what goes on behind closed doors or the relationship McD has with the players and the players owe us nothing when it comes to how they feel about anything put out there.

It is ones fault for expecting anything then forming conclusions on the lack there of.

You know who else doesn't know? Tyler Dunne.

You think it was CBS, not YTTV??

I've seen that happen a number of times, which is fine, s little weird but nothing wrong.

I would think if anything though, it would be the local feed ahead of the ST feed.

  3. I quickly switched to a Reddit stream, so I was OK.

One thing I did notice though: I had the 4-games-at-once option on, with the sound on the Ravens game.

When 1 of the 4 games ended, they switched to the Ravens, so that game was on 2x. The local Fox feed was a play behind the ST feed, go figure.

Do you not know Ty Dunne?  He's an excellent, well respected, real journalist (with a formal education on how to be one) who doesn't just "make stuff up."

You know, he's just like Jerry Sullivan in that regard.

Of course, lots of followers here will forever hate guys like this because they tell the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts.

    This HACK is no Sully.

No way Sully would rely on a clown like Doug Whaley for his material.

I don't understand the need for an ad hominem attack.   You don't know me, my character, what I've done...

In any case, I've admitted in this thread that (1) I likewise don't know Dunne personally or his character, (2) I don't believe Dunne presented anything as factual that wasn't factual, (3) I do believe Dunne believed every word that he wrote, and (4) I don't actually know what McD is like on the practice field, in the locker room or the training facility.

But here's what bugs me: Dunne's judged the man.   For example, he writes, "Coaches see a boss who preaches accountability while taking none himself."  It's one thing to criticize a coach's tactical decisions, another thing altogether to attack the person.  And Dunne doesn't have the right to speak for the coaches -  I am certain that there are Bills coaches who would disagree with Dunne's characterization.

I'm not sure if McD is a good enough coach to get us a Lombardi.  Maybe he is "tight" and has some of the other shortcomings Dunne described.  But when Dunne stoops to character assassination, which I've seen in quotes from the article, I'm not a fan.  Neither is Micah Hyde.  And, btw, Sherfield says Hyde was speaking for the team when he rebutted Dunne.

But I'm not sticking up for McD as much as I'm sticking up for human respect and kindness.  I don't believe in attacking people.  It's a crappy thing to do.  And I don't need to read 20,000 words to know that.  If a criminal robs 20,000 people, I don't need to witness every theft to know I'm not a fan.

Me, I’m not here to defend McD at all, it’s all about bashing Tyler Dunne, been doing it for years now. :)

Still have at least 5 games to play, let’s see what happens.

Dunne?  Ty Dunne?  Is that you?

    I write reports.

    I write for publication

Last paper I wrote had 32 sources

I started work on a book a few years ago called “The Drought Era - 17 Years Of Hell”. I had 50 sources…. FIFTY! I had to drop the project though when only 2 of them would allow me to use their names, Chalkie Gerzowski and ICE. :(

Yeah, that's the Cold Hard Financial Facts of the situation.

If Dunne pulled in 100 new subscribers who spent their $8, that's $800 and a Merry Christmas for family and friends.

If he pulled in 1000, that's $8000, a Merry Christmas and a trip to Hawaii (or the server bill and maybe his home's utilities and property tax too.)

If he pulled in 10,000, that's $80,000  - twice the per capita income reported for Erie County by   Census.gov

With a story that got nationwide airplay as the 9/11 anecdote from 2019 has done, I don't think it's beyond the pale that 10,000 people might have had $8 of curiousity.

I’ve read enough Tyler Dunne back in the Doug Whaley Daze, and don’t need to see any more. For those who do want to read it, someone should just post the whole thing somewhere (not here of course) and save people the money. I normally would not condone such actions, but it’s not like this bottom-feeder can afford to sue anyone. :D

I paid the $8 and spent the past two hours reading the article. When I finished, I canceled my subscription. In the box that asked the reason for cancellation, I wrote, "I paid $8 to read your article on McDermott. Your agenda, the contradictions, and your blatant dishonesty were all too obvious. You will never get a click from me again. "

If I had another two hours, I would pull apart all of Dunne's one-sided contradictions. That is too much time and work. I'll provide two:

Dunne attempts to condemn McDermott for not having relationships with players - being too distant and unrelatable. In a different section, he quotes multiple players who comment on how much they enjoy their one-on-one conversations with the head coach.

One anonymous (always anonymous) player complains that the Bills offense is built for a dome. In another section of the novel, Dunne condemns McDermott for wanting the offense to be more physical and run-oriented.

Dunne began writing with a conclusion, "McDermott must be fired," and worked his @$$ off to prove his conclusion. Unfortunately, in 2023, this is mistakenly called journalism.

He still won, he got your $8.

Maybe he’s auditioning for the WaPo or the NYT.

maybe…. The players don’t give a s*** about something that was said 4 years ago and think it is stupid they are being asked about it and just say no comment.

    but sure keep reaching

Also it’s very likely that, regardless of what they truly of McD, the players all know that Tyler Dunne is an assclown hack and see no need to even acknowledge his “story”.

The Bills are a large organization with high attrition because of the nature of the business.

Dunne found “25” people that felt burned by McDermott and wrote an article. I.e., he likely interviewed more than 25 but stuck to the negative “support the narrative” statements.

Let’s remove the “Bills” for a moment. Highly regarded, well ran organizations are still going to have their employees that gripe, leadership is screwed up, I hate it here….Down the line.

It’s easy to find a disgruntled person if you look hard enough. Dunne made it a hit job.

McDermott has his faults. The article was garbage. I hope it brings the team together and they save their season.

More likely that this hack “interviewed” Doug Whaley and a handful of players.

  11. https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/adam-schefter-ty-dunne-sean-mcdermott-9-11.html

Dunne’s past NFL work includes national NFL features for Bleacher Report from 2016-2020, including a deeply sourced 2019 piece on the Aaron Rodgers-Mike McCarthy relationship that drew Rodgers’ ire as a “smear attack.” (Rodgers was a media antagonist long before vaccine conversations.) He was one of many B/R employees laid off in the summer of 2020 around COVID-19 cuts, the winding down of B/R Mag, and their whole features division.
