Except now 120 pages about him. Interesting way to just let him fade into oblivion. And frankly I don't give a rat's ass about whatever he does with his life. I think most of us would have been satisfied with a 1-part article about the ways McDermott is wasting Allen's career, and leave out the rest.

No such thing as too much Tyler Dunne bashing.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. :)

Oh Rico, we all know how this tragic story ends: turning tricks behind parking lot dumpsters along Chippewa Street, or perhaps behind a cluster of trees in Cazenovia Park, or perhaps even behind the Buffalo Bills field house…right outside Sean McDermott’s very office window (eek!). It’s a tale as old as time itself. Like Citizen Kane, but much less cinematic.

A rollerball pen. A notepad. A voice recorder. A word processor. All of these are instruments that a first-rate sports journalist might use to communicate with the people.

Fishnet stockings. Thigh-high boots. Cherry red lipstick. Backless bodycon mini dresses. New instruments with which Tyler must soon become acquainted in order to keep those $8 increments coming. “Go Long” is about to take on an entirely new meaning in poor Tyler’s career.

The antagonist in this story chose to turn his back on the Western New York community that raised him, via betrayal of its football entertainment exemplar, all for an easy ride on the journalism career highway. Unfortunately for dear Dunne, he himself is soon to become the easy ride on a career highway physically manifested as, say, Route 219…going south somewhere in the Southtowns.

But wait…is there a happy ending to be uncovered in this story…besides, you know, the usual happy endings?? No, not really. Dunne is done in Western New York. But if you’re looking for a silver mascara-esque lining in this Greek-esque tragedy, know that most of Tyler’s Johns will be honorable and respectful and pay him the full $8 he will have each time rightfully earned. Buffalo, after all, is the “City of Good Neighbors.” Some may even take the time to help him fix that mascara running down his face before his next trick. They may carefully lean in, shape the mascara smudges into the vague form of a charging Buffalo, and whisper ever so softly into Tyler’s ear, “Go Bills.”

Really one of the dumber “hey look at me, i’m an amazing Journalist with an incredible investigative chops” articles i’ve ever seen.

I mean he chose to do this big expose’ on a god fearing vanilla milk toast coach. while he may be intense and with flaws, to the many people that know Sean he’s always sounded like a really good man.

Im sure there are several other coaches around the league that have much juicier behind the scenes material for a big article.

He had a golden opportunity to do the same kind of story at the end of the Drought Era on Russ Brandon and Doug Whaley… and he blew it.

I interviewed 25 former players, coaches, and staff to talk about Mike Tomlin. Here’s my blog.

”He’s been riding that Super Bowl for over a decade. He’s very arrogant and it’s his way or the highway in that building.”

”If things go south, the first thing Tomlin will do is fire his OC. Of course, it can’t be his defenses’ fault.”

”He basically ignores the offense. The lockerroom doesn’t respect him, look at how the Antonio Brown and Le’veon Bell things turned out. He’s a poor leader.”

Subscribe to my blog to read more from these former staff members who clearly have no bias at all when talking about the guy who fired them.

Good idea, maybe after he’s broke again.

I think dunnes article is crap personally. I think some former players and coaches exaggerated certain situations greatly. Why would a player like Bease or brown wanna come back if McDermott was/is so terrible to play for? McDermott and beane have brought multiple players back over the years. That doesn't happen when players hate the team they play for

Biggest exaggeration was that he had 25 sources.

But the thing you miss is that crap is not a real piece of journalism, but a  only a 'man' with a vendetta, listing a slew of criticisms and then smushing these unrelated events together, connecting them (very, very poorly) to make the case against a man he hates.

This person is not a journalist, any more than others with blogs are journalists, just a guy with his own site, charging others to pay for his 'work'.  No true Bills' fan will ever read this idiot's writing again.

He has no editor or fellow writers to give him feedback and such,to reign in his worst traits, as a newspaper/magazine/pro-online news organization would.

I cannot imagine any fan of the Bills accepting this muckraking as legitimate journalism.

So glad it is now being held up across the country for what it is--trash.

    His career is in free-fall.

    Buffalo News -> Bleacher Report -> Blog -> ???

I'm still struggling with the timing of this being released now.  It's strange to me.  But, love or hate McD, you can never argue that he has his players backs and it showed with this article and responses.  Coaching aside, bad context or not, McD has every players respect.

Now, IF I were a conspiracy theorists, did this article drop now as potential fuel for Pegula to have another piece of ammo to fire McD if things don't go well....

Now IF I was a conspiracy theorist, I would say Dunne is laying the groundwork to dump McBeane and bring back Whaley with Hue Jackson as HC.
