  1. I know he's a hot topic on this board, but that's not the reason for this post.

Cian Fahey does perhaps the best work in highlighting the finer points of players' efforts of anyone that produces free material, and his latest Film Study for Football Outsiders on Russell Wilson is outstanding:

Goes to show just how good Wilson is playing right now.

That guy gets taller every day! He must be up to 6'3" by now.

  2. Yes. If the Bills win the next three games it will be a huge step forward. They will have held there own in the AFC East. That is huge. EJ will have taken a big forward step. They would finish the season on a three game winning streak. They will still be in a position to get significant help in the draft and they will be a place that veteran free agents will consider. In my opinion they will have had a successful season.

  3. If you watch that touchdown run on the 2nd play of the game ,you'll see Nigel Bradham running 5yds. behind Byrd trying to catch the RB ! Nigel catches Byrd and blows right by him ! LOL ! Byrd has no speed and the Bills are right on not giving him No.1 Safety pay !

Or he has the speed but not the desire?

  4. I haven't even started yet. I gave up with the emotional investment this year. I have a full plate. That I don't have the bills bringing me down more. Whew

The Magic words! I would not be caught dead in a Jersey with someone else's name on it. Think about what that says about how you view yourself? We have to put it all in perspective, this is just a game that is played by pampered over paid adolescents who are old enough to be adults. Enjoy it for what it is it's the entertainment business no more and no less! In the grand scheme of things it means exactly nothing. Let it give you pleasure but not pain.
  5. My eyes are bleeding Bowling Green and Northern Illinois last night Missouri and Auburn. Then back and forth between The Big Ten and the ACC. So much more fun than most NFL games this year. Go War Eagle I do not want Florida State as the National Champion.

  6. It's existed just fine for the last 4 plus decades without the toronto game. your logic is flawed.

The Bills attendance is often subsidized our ticket prices are not competitive with the major markets. It takes two Bills seat holders to equal the revenue from one Dallas or Boston fan. Sellouts even in good years are often manufactured. Luxury boxes here sell for a small fraction of what they sell for in major markets. There are no Fortune 500 companies in Buffalo to buy Suites. Ralph bought this franchise for 25k when he passes it will be sold for one billion or more dollars. You might want to calculate the mortgage payment on a billion dollars. There may be 30 to 50 potential bidders for the team. My logic may have flaws but it is better than none at all.
  7. Having the Buffalo Bills play a pre-season game at the Carrier Dome is a no-brainer!

It would be a homecoming for Bills President/CEO Russ Brandon.

It would be a homecoming for all of the former SU Orange coaches now with the Bills.

It would be a pre-season game not far from the Bills training camp in Pittsford, NY.

    Excellent idea!
  8. Boston household income is over 70k per year. Dallas is 56k per year. Both areas have many more residents that WNY, I will let you look up Buffalo metro income on your own. There are 20k unsold Miami Tickets. If there is no regionalization there is no NFL in Buffalo

  9. Lets say we scrap the Toronto Games and substitute a lottery for people who commute more than 50 miles to games at the Ralph. Those season ticket holders or game package holders would be placed into a lottery so they would receive concierge treatment for one game. The winner will receive a plane or train ticket, limo pick up and hotel plus discount coupons for the Mall and dining. I have seen this done very successfully for charity events in other cities. I think you could get a lot of local businesses to get on board for this. . There could be permutations of this. A Toronto day - charter a whole plane of winners. Rochester Day or Syracuse day. You could have a lot of fun with it. I would invite anyone else who has an idea to post it here as well!

  10. It is a fair question and I honestly do not know the answer. I am less of an emotional fan than I used to be. I like watching football in person or on TV. I also like college and High School Ball as well. I Still love the Bills but I like other teams too. I suppose if they were not the Bills I would be liberated and adopt a team that was competitive year after year. That team might still be the Bills but I will not know until it actually happens. I do believe that the Bills will eventually leave I just do not know when. I also have a lot of other interests that I could pursue, being a fan is a luxury not a necessity for me. I

Good question if you asked it ten years ago I would be crushed if they left, now not so much. I have many interests and could easily spend my time and cash with other things. I like college and local high school sports as well especially UB football. I still would watch some NFL but not as much.

  11. Russ could claim half the fans in the stands are from Ontario. ----and it is an important way for him to continuously sell the narrative that pimping the Bills to a Canadian family has been vital to their continued existence as an NFL franchise.

There is no way to verify it That is what the Analytics guy is going to do!! Say what you will Brandon has got every grain of marketing salt out of this franchise. Brilliant job!
  12. The Jet's game plan as stated by Rex was to stop the Bills running game because they did not believe the Bills could win with a passing game attack featuring a Rookie QB and down two starters at receiver. The Jet's game plan was partially successful. They stuffed the Bills ground game. The Bills responded by throwing over the top successfully and turning the game into a rout with an outstanding defensive effort. The most disappointing play from the Jets viewpoint was Goodwin toasting the Jets best corner. That play had Rex almost in tears and threatening his corners with playing cover two instead of man for man.

  13. EJ Manual has been smacked in the mouth and now we have to see how he responds over the rest of the season. His career is at an early crisis. If EJ does not perform he will face a QB competition next season against a high and possibly number one draft choice. Brandon's hand will be forced because if EJ does not show enough season ticket numbers will crash and Brandon cannot let that happen. Even if the Bills trash the rest of the season you know a top college QB will bring the fans out and the Canadians to town. At the end of the day the NFL is show business and don't ever forget it.
