  1. Americans are highly noted for their ability to piss away money and I for one am very proud of how quickly President Obama reached the same conclusion and decided if someones going to piss away all the money it might as well to be him.

Don't worry, I am sure when we fall he will take the 51st State, aka Canada, down with him! :nana:

  2. And while I am at it. Expand the Metro-Rail with exhisting above ground tracks from downtown Buffalo to NF. Have a train go from the Airport to Downtown Buffalo. Have the current subway extend to UB Amherst. Have a Hub by HSBC arena. This would allow the Buffalo Airport to be a bigger hub for NF tourism. This would also help with the traffic problems with a new proposed stadium.

Our Goveneur is already proposing High Speed rail from Buffalo to NYC. This above plan would help those in Roch, Syr, Albany and NYC to get to games via train.

Hey, If our current president can piss away money and dream, why can't we?

  3. I know you aren't serious about that, but others have said the same thing.

You see where you are likely going to have to park, near the Falls in NF, Ontario, and you walk to the bridge, across the bridge and to wherever the stadium is located...when the weather is below 30 and the winds are whipping. Yes, that is a terrific plan.

I am actually very serious about that. In a few years NF Ont will have a tram that takes tourists all over NF. I have walked across the Rainbow on several occasions, yes it would be cold and a bit windy, but not any worse than walking down Abbott Rd with the winds coming off of Lake Erie. I can also envision people crossing the Peace Bridge, driving to NF Ont and walking across to avoid traffic. Maybe some improvements could be made to the Rainbow bridge pedestrian walk. I am a big thinker I know, something WNY needs and could use. Maybe I should run for office... Oh wait, I am not crooked.

  4. Moving the team 10 or 15 miles closer to Toronto, yet still across the border from that city, is tantamount to not moving it at all, as far as that market is concerned. Why bother, if that's the reason? If the reason is to tap into a regional WNY plan, cool; move the team. But you're not going to attract more Toronto fans by moving the team to the Falls.

Niagara Falls is 45 minutes without traffic closer to Toronto than Orchard Park. With Bills game Traffic, add and hour at least.

  5. The main point of locating a potential new stadium in Niagara Falls is this...

Put the damn thing as close to Toronto as possible without having the team move there. Tap into their population and corporate base. The tourist and potential economic benefits to Niagara Falls are secondary in my opinion. Stadiums in Lancaster, ECC or Waterfront miss the main point that we need to tap into Toronoto without having to play any more games there or relocate there.

  6. You expect an NFL owner to move a team to a location to revitalize the area? I'm not sure you understand why a team moves. A team will move to Toronto or L.A. because it sells tickets. Unless I'm mistaken, there are no wealthy owners from NF-US. Why would anyone move them there??

New York State would be building this new stadium to keep the the Bills from moving. Granted, with todays economy the State spending a Billion dollars on a Niagara Falls stadium sounds ridiculous, but that is just a fraction of the money our new savior, Jesus Obama, is spending of our grandchildrens money. As long as we are pissing away the future, we may as well spend it on something I enjoy.

  7. Niagara Falls makes so much sense that it will never happen.

    Consider this....

The hotel capacity on both sides of the border from Mid Sept. - Mar. (the Non tourist season)

Possible Superbowl, NCAA Regional Finals or Final Four.

Canadians could park in NF Ont and walk across the Rainbow bridge. On a clear day you could see both Buffalo and Toronto from the cheap seats.

As part of the stadium complex there could be year round tourist attractions. (Bills HOF, NFL Experience others)

Like the Patriots did, build a mall attached to the stadium. The one thing the Canadian side of the falls can not compete with is "Americana" Tourists from Asia, South America and Europe want a piece of "Americana" In the mall, house the following anchor stores (Disney, Harley Davidson, Levi Strauss others...)

Niagara Falls has so much potential, the entire city could be bulldozed and we would be starting with a clean canvas.

    Just my two cents.

  8. Erie County bends over backwards. Erie County is broke. Poor poor Erie County. (Pun intended.)

Why not take your case to the next NFL owners' meeting? Walk in there and tell the other 31 owners that evil Ralph Wilson won't give poor Erie County that bends over backwards a decent break. They might be able to hold off their uncontrolled laughter in before you leave, but I doubt it. Then, after you leave, and they compose themselves, they will tell Wilson how crazy he has been for keeping the team in Buffalo all these years to begin with.

Come on, even the most revenue challanged of the other 31 teams have new stadiums that were built with taxpayer money today. Who is left with stadiums as old as the Ralph? Not Green Bay anymore. The shell of Lambeau might still exist, but there's 300 Million of improvements on top of it now. Same with Soldier Field, same story with Arrowhead as 300 Million of improvements are being done to it as we write. I don't know for sure, but with the Jets/Giants new stadium coming along and the new palace in Dallas being built, I think Miami might have the oldest stadium in the league that has not had major improvements, and it is only about 20 or so. (I could be wrong.)

I suggest Erie County find the 3 Million dollars and get the damned improvements done, already.

    Oakland

    San Diego

    San Francisco

    New Orleans

    Minnesota

This list is off the top of my head, all dumps.

Please improve the mens bathrooms with the county money. The John by Section 116 has one 3 foot opening for both entering and exiting. It is a freaking disaster! The troths are a nice touch though.

  9. Ever try using the mens room outside of section 116? There is one 3 foot door way that has to be used as both an enterence and exit. Once inside you are welcomed with throths. By the time you take a piss, you have missed the majority of the game. This is my biggest pet peave about the Ralph, the bathroom facilities are unfit for even animals.

  10. Ive been saying it for years. Moving them there ties in all the major markets of Buffalo, Toronto and Rochester and also tourist flow. Rename them the "Niagara Bills" so they're associated with the river/area and not a city, further encouraging fans from all over to call them their own. There's tons of room in the downtown NF area for this. The only thing missing is the vision and determination to make it happen.

If in Downtown Niagara Falls, Canadians would not have to drive across the bridges. They could simply park in NF Can, and walk across the Rainbow bridge. Plenty of parking over there Sept - Dec (non tourist season)

An alternative route to the game to avoid the Grand Island Bridges, Cross the Peace Bridge drive to NF Can and walk over.

Finally, In the future it would be nice to have a metro rail to Niagara Falls, regardless of if there is a stadium there.

  11. Buffalo News: Body Found

    Tuesday December 2, 2008

    Buffalo, New York

Buffalo Police have recovered the body of an adult male

From the Niagara River at 8:45 AM.

The victim apparently fell in and drowned due to excessive

Alcohol consumption. He was wearing a Buffalo Bills

Jersey, black fishnet stockings with spiked heels and a red

Garter belt . He also had a cucumber inserted in his rectum.

The police thoughtfully removed the Bills jersey to spare

    The family any unnecessary embarrassment.
