  1. Andy's a stellar guy, perhaps one of the most underrated coaches in the NFL. This is a tough profession. NFL Head Coaches work 70+hour work weeks during the regular season. Reid's sons were teenagers through Reid's most formative years with the Eagles. It's always hard to assess what the impact could have been had Reid been around the home front more often. He likely feels some regret that while he's a successful NFL coach, his sons have fallen off the wayside. I feel for the guy and hope the month is long enough for him to attend to his sons' problems.
  2. We're mistaken to assume our 7-9 Bills will handle the NFC East in cakewalk fashion next year. Dallas will be stronger as Romo continues his excellent progress and the sad defence will improve over Parcells crew. This could be a Superbowl team next year. Eagles, notwithstanding Reid's sons drug/legal problems will be contenders again and playoff bound The Giants depend on Eli playing vastly better now that Tiki is definitely not coming back. This team could disappoint but don't count them out as a playoff team. The Skins have a young QB, decent defence and are one of those unknown unknowns ... they could surge next season or be another huge disappointment
  3. We play to win against the Skins next year, not to exact some revenge against Taylor for what was a clean hit on a guy carrying the ball. Moorman was in play as a ball carrier and was fair game for Taylor. Yeah it's the all-star game but it's not pad-less, pansy-@ss flag football.
  4. He's pushing 34 years old but he's been a trooper as he's not been prone to injuries. He likely has a good physical conditioning program but age is always the worry. Fletch is around the same age and has one year of experience under Fewell's system.
  5. He was once of of the best at his position in getting yards after the catch due to his physicality, but age is against him. If he's cut by Houston, it's worth taking a look at Eric for a number 3 receiver role in Buf.
  6. He's either cut in the offseason or has to show some drastic potential for improvement in camp.
  7. 1200 yards and how many games was he out with cracked ribs?? 4? And when he came back from the injury, Solomon Wilcots on the CBS game coverage said that Willis was still playing with some soreness as not all of the ribs had healed.
  8. That sounds like a conspiracy theory. I'm not buying it. Most of us will agree that Bellychick is an a--hole and showing Bellychick's joviality and joke telling -- that NFL Network was only too willing to show at Pro Bowl practices -- will NOT change that. But to assert that he wanted to get Moorman off the field against the Pats next season is a leap. The Bills have not been a threat to the Pats in years. (Both the Jets and Fins recorded wins against the Pats last season.)
  9. Do you think that Nate "upped" his performance to some extent (particularly in the 2nd 1/2 of the season) because he was in a contract year? '07 could be Willis' best year in a Bills uniform (and perhaps his last?).
  10. Strengthening the OL should be a bigger priority than identifying a number two receiver.
  11. Schobel was the clear defensive leader. He sacked Romo and got six tackles. Defense T-A SCK INT FF A. Schobel 6-0 1.0 0 0 J. Henderson 4-1 0.0 0 0 C. McAlister 4-0 0.0 0 0 S. Merriman 4-0 0.0 0 1 T. Polamalu 4-0 0.0 0 0 T. Suggs 4-0 1.0 0 0 Z. Thomas 4-0 0.0 0 0 E. Reed 3-0 0.0 2 0 J. Williams 3-1 1.0 0 0 C. Bailey 2-0 0.0 0 0 J. Miller 2-0 0.0 0 0 J. 12. An attitude adjustment by Willis and an improved OL could change that.
  13. Word is that Plummer could be traded to the Texans and get reunited with Kubiak. http://www.aolsportsblog.com/2007/02/10/co...mer-to-houston/
  14. Todd France choreographed it perfectly. Got the story out in the press last week after the Superbowl so it was widely circulated by all sports outlets. And his phone has likely been ringing actively ever since. Nate had a strong second half in '06. Was he really a shut down corner in '05? Pay him the blockbuster bucks in '07 and forward and what happens if he plays average again. We've blown a wad of cash on a "shutdown" CB when we're trying to build a Tampa 2 defence.
  15. Make the Bills OL and DL top ten in the league and you have a 10-6 team next year. We'd be better against the run. We'd give more protection for JP. We'd open up more lanes for Willis ..... It's the line(s), stupid!
  16. Soberly said. Speculation, speculation, speculation at this stage. Let's just hope the Bills draft brain trust is working overtime this year. We need a good draft this year.
  17. Fletch and Nate (especially in the 2nd half) were key on our defence. Fletch was an emotional leader as well. If both leave, it will clearly hurt unless Marv and Dick have a good draft and some smart FA signings.
  18. Clearly worse than the NHL and NBA all-star games. NFL Network showed the NFL Films version of Superbowl XLI between Indy and the Colts. Some great footage. You could interpret how p-ssed some of the Bears were after Wrecks Grossman's 2nd interception. I flipped over to the sleeper Pro Bowl during commercials on the NFL Network.
  19. Do you think he'd hit the other inmates that hard in scrimmage during exercise time in prison? It's an all-star game for pete's sake, you idiot!
  20. I'd like to see the Bills consider the Steelers strategy in '05 of using Jerome Bettis as the anchor of their power running game and Willie Parker as the anchor of their speed running game. Willis McGahee is a power running back. He needs a speed guy with Maroney or Parker-like skills. Would Willis buy into it though?
  21. You think idiot Belichick would have sent Todd Sauerbrun out to do that?
  22. Perfect. I'll switch over to the Pro Bowl during Sabres game commercial breaks.
