  1. I love Johnny White! He shows really quick burst and has been impressing me each day.
  2. I don't remember him standing up last year. He might be useful like that. Garbage time pass rusher...lol!
  3. Pass blocking is alright...it's kinda tough to tell as they arent going full force yet. They run a lot on the right side and they are getting good yardage each time. Pears is doing well at RT. Not so sure about Urbik though.
  4. I'm a big skeptic too. I am almost ready to call him a bust, but still...maybe they are going to finally use him the right way. I never understood why they had him at the line on all 4s. He makes a lot more sense when he's standing up straight at the line and ready to rush the QB.
  5. Sorry this is so late. It was a late practice last night and I had to work at my other job today. Just got done uploading the photos and writing the article a little while ago. Michael --------------------------------------------------------- Thursday was the fifth day of camp and the first full pad practice and was the most physical practice this year, with quite a few hits. It was also the first practice for all the players that the Buffalo Bills signed in free agency or re-signed now that the CBA has been ratified. This included linebacker Nick Barnett, quarterbacks Tyler Thigpen and Brad Smith, along with cornerback Drayton Florence, tight end Scott Chandler, and long snapper Garrison Sanborn. The players worked on their individual drills, 7-on-7, passing drills, 11-on-11, lots of special teams work and a full field drill at the end of the day for the backup players. As usual, the day started out with the players coming out of the locker room, one by one. Marcell Dareus got the biggest cheer of the night. The players came out did their stretching and went right to work on the individual drills. They did this for about 10 minutes or so and then worked on special teams, specifically punt returns while using the jugs machine. The main punt returners were Roscoe Parrish, CJ Spiller and Leodis McKelvin. Parrish wowed the crowd with a nice 20-yard return, showing his speed going down the field. Following the special teams work, the team split the field in half. On one half, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tyler Thigpen and Brad Smith were working with the wide receivers in a 3-on-3 passing drill against the cornerbacks. On the other side, Levi Brown and Josh Nesbitt worked with the tight ends and running backs against the safeties and linebackers in a 4-on-4 drill. I noted a couple key plays that drew some cheers from the crowd. The first one was a 25-yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Stevie Johnson, who made a nice sideline catch. He also found Johnson later on for a 20-yard catch in the red zone, and Stevie made a sweet one-handed grab. On the negative side, Tyler Thigpen threw a bad pass that was intercepted by Drayton Florence and returned for a touchdown.... CLICK FOR MORE:
  6. Wow! Thanks for all the compliments. I really appreciate it. I was beginning to wonder if it was time to change it up and just do the extra points and a brief summary, but it seems like a lot of people enjoy the play by play, so I will leave it alone.
  7. Here's the link to my gallery of the photos from that practice too. It's on photobucket, so you can click on the ones you like and I have high res photos up there too. http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t138/Mikey82_photos/Buffalo%20Bills%20Training%20Camp%202011/8-1-11%20Monday%20Afternoon%20Practice/
  8. me too. That royal blue looks really sharp with the white helmet in the sun!
  9. No problem. Glad you like em. The Wings beat the Bisons 7-3!
  10. Seeing how it's just Fitz and Brown...they are letting him throw to all the guys at times. It was very basic formations at the beginning, but now i'm starting to see more shotgun and the 2-back formations.
  11. I'm sorry this is late. I was invited to the Red Wings game in a suite today with my work and didn't get the time to finish it before leaving. Hope you like it. Leave me any thoughts or comments in the thread. I did take a ton of photos and they are on photobucket, click on the dated link under the photo to get to the gallery. If you like any of them, just click on them and get the high res size and save it. Enjoy! Michael ---------------------------------------------------- Monday was the third day of camp and the first day where the team practiced with pads. The players wore shoulder pads and shorts and there was some contact, but nothing major. On the field, the Buffalo Bills team worked on their usual individual drills, 7-on-7, 11-on-11 and some special teams work, including kickoff coverage and punt coverage. The team also went away from all the passing in the 11-on-11 full squad drills and focused more on running the ball and dumping it off to the running backs. To start the day off, the players split with their own unit, stretched, and then worked on individual drills. The wide receivers caught passes from the quarterbacks, the running backs worked on some footwork drills. I also watched the outside linebackers working on coverage drills and the defensive lineman doing some work with the blocking sleds. The one thing that caught my eye was how Shawne Merriman looked in the blocking drills, he got around his block every time, showed quick speed and nice footwork. I also saw Michael Jasper get several cheers as he flew into the blocking sled and then pounced on top of it. He's a late round sleeper that fans are cheering for every single time and becoming a favorite...... CLICK HERE FOR MORE:
  12. I'm glad you liked this. I didn't go yesterday, due to some other stuff going on...but I'll be there this afternoon. I'll try to have the report up tonight, but it might not be until tomorrow afternoon.
  13. Sorry, I thought I wrote it in the article. It was some scrub named Michael Switzer. Agreed. With all the money that the Bills have donated to that school, I don't know WTF they were thinking either.
  14. No problem! Glad you like it! I will try to have more photos and hopefully better ones tonight. I wasn't a fan with how they came out this time.
  15. I almost forgot to share this with you guys. Hope you like it. Leave me any thoughts or comments in the thread. I'm going to take a nap now because I gotta work tonight and go to the night practice. Michael ---------------------------------------------------- Finally! The lockout is over with and so is the fast paced offseason. Now it's time for Buffalo Bills training camp. The Bills had their first practice on the new grass field at St. John Fisher Saturday afternoon. It's a lot different from prior years at camp. There are lots of seats now, fans can sit in the bleachers on the new Track and Field stadium. But they can't hide under the trees anymore to keep cool. The fans are also sitting in end zone seats and don't get the nice sideline action that they were used to. The players also don't have a whole 100-yard field to practice on anymore. They now have the field split in half with two 50-yard vertical fields. It's definitely a major change from what the team and fans are used to. As for the practice, it was a steamy day outside and the players didn't do much contact due to the new CBA rules. But it was still a pretty good first day, especially when you consider the team had no mini-camps or offseason workouts. The day started off like any other day. The Bills worked on their individual drills and did the stretches with their units. I tried to keep an eye on the wide receivers and noticed that Stevie Johnson was catching everything thrown his way. Marcus Easley on the other hand dropped a couple. After the individual drills, I noticed something weird. The wide receivers and defensive backs were doing a drill together. They ran a route and had a broom behind their backs. I'm guessing that was so they learned not to use their hands, but I might be wrong..... CLICK HERE FOR MORE:
  16. Not to pat my own back or anything, but I took tons of photos of the uniforms and showed both the logo on the pants and the logo on the back of the jersey. They are both really sweet. It's about time that the Bills finally have something on their uniform to help distinguish who they are. http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t138/Mikey82_photos/Buffalo%20Bills%20Season%202011/06_24_11%20Buffalo%20Bills%20Uniform%20Unveiling/
  17. I've never seen stripes that were stitched on before on any jerseys. It would probably cost too much and like I said before, be a pain in the ass to stitch all those jersey stripes.
  18. The authentic throwbacks didn't have stitched striping. That would have been a big pain in the ass.
  19. Yeah, you're right. His guns really stick out nicely with the jerseys. I like the way it looks on him.
  20. I think I finally figured it out! I honestly think that the reason why the alumni were wearing those jerseys is because those are the authentic ones that players will wear to events and when they aren't wearing the pads. They are the ones that will be sold to fans who want to shell out the $300 something for them. The ones that the military guys are wearing are game uniforms. The jerseys will not be available to the public and if you read the BuffaloBills.com website, you will read that Reebok changed the material this year on the jerseys. It's more of like an under armour stretch fit type material. It's why it looks plain looking and very stretched out, because it's stretched over the pads. Hell, look at how those jerseys look when they are hanging in the locker room. They look very tiny. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Bills-put-charge-in-new-uniforms/889c5f64-2676-4e83-84b0-ebe6c66d7959 Here's the quote that I'm talking about.
  21. I was thinking the same thing and it makes me wonder if the ones that the alumni are wearing are replithentic. They look real, but they are not the ones the players will wear on the field. Honestly, that's what I love about the ones that the military guys were wearing. The navy blue outline doesnt overpower the numbers or the striping. It's on there very thin and makes it a nice touch when you look at it close up. That's the thing that bothered me about the ones that Kelly and the alumni were wearing. Even the replicas looked better with the navy blue trim. It didn't overpower it. As for your other post, I completely agree. It looked like they didn't know how to stand. Some stood there with their arms folded to look tough like a football player and some put there hands down like that. It was pretty funny.
  22. No problem. When I keep looking at them, I notice in some photos that you see the navy striping and navy trim around the numbers on the blue jerseys. It shows up more when u look at them closer up. I like that the player uniforms doesnt have the navy blue overpower it, like the ones that the alumni are wearing.
  23. I was thinking the same thing. The military guys look uncomfortable on stage and that made the uniforms look a little off. As far as the tightness, they are a different design than we are used to. Apparently the Reebok 2011 jersey design is a stretch mesh. It's supposed to be more breathable and pulls the moisture away from the body. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Bills-put-charge-in-new-uniforms/889c5f64-2676-4e83-84b0-ebe6c66d7959 The photos of just the jerseys hanging in the locker room on Buffalobills.com look extremely tight and remind me of a spandex type/underarmour material.
  24. Wow! You're right. He does look like a younger Kelsay. Except he's probably better than Kelsay.
