Again, I really want to know, if I can legally say that I’m a woman even though I was born with a dingus, can I legally say(and partake in all government benefits) that I am black or Native American because that’s my identity, even though I was born from very white Norwegians?

Is this when someone who doesn’t have an actual reply posts a non-witty cartoon of trump and racists?

If you're looking for actual legal responses, you should probably ask a civil rights attorney, or at least study a few sources, such as:

    https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massachusetts-law-about-gender-identity-or-expression

    https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/lgbtq-rights/

    https://blogs.loc.gov/law/2015/06/law-of-gender-identity-and-sexual-orientation-a-beginners-guide/

Those are just the first three links that came up.

Earlier in the thread, B-Man suggested you look here at the lengthy, ongoing conversation: Check out the The Mizzou/Yale/PC/Free Speech Topic thread

There have only been 53 deaths to the virus in Erie County.

You knew 2 of them personally, and a hospitalization?

    Those odds are extraordinary.

You're assuming they lived in Erie County?

I'm very sorry to hear the news, T. My sincere condolences.

That’s one of the failures of the Western world I’m taking about though. We all need to end our dependence on China. It’s a scary and very dangerous position to be in. It’s not the fault of you or I, but it is a failure due to many years of terrible policy by the Western world.

I do not disagree with that. You had said that like the west, that China had been inadequate in their response to the virus. China was deliberately deceitful, both with their own people and with the rest of the world. A lot of people have died because of China that likely wouldn't have.

I completely agree that this is a scary and dangerous position to be in, and I would agree that this is great illustration of the need for some kind of plan to deal with pandemics, at least domestically. That said, no plan will ever work if nations behave the way China has.

I’ve always been a non-partisan thinker, as I believe there is right and wrong regardless of party affiliation. Honestly, no one got this right. There are no hero’s in this story, except for the first responders and people working the front lines. China and then much of the Western world failed with an adequate response. No one was prepared, it’s as simple as that.

China didn't just have an inadequate response, they lied to the rest of the world about the scope and severity of the virus and sold ineffective/defective PPE to other countries trying to deal with it.

No I wouldn’t.  And you, my friend, are the perfect example of why when a prospect tells me he’s an engineer I pass them off on to someone else.

You’re on your death bed and you second guess the doctor and want options.

I’ll say it again. Good ***** Lord.

The previous two pages kinda foreshadowed his responses, don't you think?

In my experience, no real MD would be so flippant.  None the less, I thought the questions I asked were reasonable and he didn't answer a single one.  He is the troll.

I though he was being patient. Most MDs would have told you to shove off long ago.

Alright, I think that’s it. Hope it was at least educational for the rest of y’all.

Well, we certainly learned more than he did.

Seriously?  You dodged my first question.  Name the first million of the 9 million treatments for Lupus;  I gave you the benefit of the doubt.  Your answers havn.t been remotely close to anything any MD has said.  I doubt you are an MD at all.

Seriously? He used the rhetorical number "nine million" and you're trying to sound reasonable in asking him simply to name the first million? You're an ass and a troll.

Another one who joined a few hours ago and immediately headed down to PPP. <_< Oh goodie.

Sock puppet or troll? You make the call!

Get used to it. An apparent effect of sheltering in place is a spike in troll activity on boards like this one, as if we don't have enough of that already. I just wish people would realize that replying to them brings them down to the same level of intellect.

(not referring to your post, btw)

I have seriously misjudged the smarts of the people out here.

    Common sense does not apply.

I feel like I am the only one self quarantining. ?

Stay safe and enjoy the view - it sounds like you've got a ringside seat for Darwin in action.

So if we’re going to have a massive infrastructure bill this year why not have even 10% of it go towards planting trees? Call it infrastructure! Trees are way cheaper than bridges and roads. Get ‘er done!

I tend to think that most people are able to plant flowers and trees on their own, but if you think that it takes a village, then have at it.

And assuming Kay is right, all we need to do is plant lots and lots of trees. I’m all for it! It’s cheap. It won’t take long to have an impact. And everyone likes trees!  Why doesn’t someone propose this instead of the government overreach we’re getting from so many on the Left?

Planting trees, growing gardens on balconies and patios - that's always good. Even if we don't know the extent of their effect, we know that plants thrive on CO2 and produce oxygen. We don't have to be greenies or environmentalists to appreciate the value in that.

You don't understand most of what you're talking about.

You have faith in others' words, but lack the ability to critically analyze the problem, the analysis methodology, and the proposed solutions. But you're pretty good at reading, paraphrasing, and bloviating.

By the way, this doesn't just apply to climate change.

I'm enjoying the back & forth between RKA and DR. It's nice to see a little genuine discussion for a change, especially in this particular thread.

    this

    and this don’t gibe.

It’s not an end of time moment for him. But the purpose of the mask is for the wearer to keep the rest of us safe. He should wear the mask in a crowded room as an example. It’s an unfortunate moment for him and I think he may rethink his statement actually. He gets this is serious and his actions matter.

if he wants to take off the mask for press conferences, change the conference format. They have been standing on top of each other for weeks. Set the example even with all the testing. We know Pence and Trump already have had a few direct exposures.

You're going to try to impress upon me the necessity of wearing a mask?

Another noteworthy "mass recommendation" is social distancing, ie staying at least six feet away from others. We already know that he's a germophobe. The last few press conferences I saw had a vastly depleted press presence in the room - he even joked about it.

Look, you're entitled to your opinion, but from here it looks to me like you're making a big deal out of very little.

The recommendation for the masses to wear masks in public like the cdc says. Trump then walks into a huge room and says he’s not following that.

Not a great move when we are trying to follow a cdc recommendation to control a pandemic and there are already a swath of morons who want to ignore this.

Not too hard to either change the briefing setup to avoid a crowded stage or have the crowded stage with masks. Crowded stage and room with no mask is a bad look.

It’s like looking into the sun during an eclipse if you will.

Do as he says anyways. I hope he changes the briefings or the mask idea. We need to go at this thing Japanese culture style coming out of it.

    You're answering for Transplant?

Okay then, let's assume that "mass recommendations" is meant, as you say, to mean "the recommendation for the masses to wear masks in public like the cdc says".

It seems pretty clear to me that Trump is speaking strictly for himself, not recommending that others follow suit. Is that questionable reasoning? Sure, I think so. Is he in any way gainsaying the medical professionals or questioning their advice? No, he isn't.

I think you guys are making an issue where one really doesn't exist.

  16. I've always believed that if American manufacturers want us to buy American, they need to make those products to be at least comparable in both affordability and quality. Under current circumstances I am willing to pay more, both as a big FU to China as well as to lend support to American workers who will need the work.
