  1. See, I disagree with that assessment. For example, we took several shots downfield against the Falcons at the start of the game. JPL missed them all, but that's Drew's bread and butter - no way does he overthrow all of those passes. I believe we would've won that game. The Saints game is the same thing -- we took our shots, the ball was nowhere near the receivers, but I think DB would've gotten us those as well. We would've lost the TB game, but I believe we would be 3-2 or 4-1 right now if we had kept the QB in there. No way to know for sure, but I've stated why I think that's true, even with our current OL. CW
  2. REALLY? THAT'S THE FIRST TIME I'VE HEARD THAT THEORY BEFORE.
  3. But the key point is we don't care about long term; we went 9-7 last year, were on the brink of making the playoffs, the time to win is THIS YEAR. We might still be able to make something of the season (thank goodness all three losses were against the NFC!), but we're not in a rebuilding mode, we're in a "Win Now" mode. After this year, the team will be completely different. We were poised to win now, which was why I was in favor of keeping DB for one last year and starting JPL in '06. CW
  4. I'm not doubting that. The guy was awesome in college (I'm a Minnesota alumni). CW
  5. The guys on the local radio were talking about Vanek and how we played an awesome game for the Sabres -- but couldn't get the puck in the net like he should be able to. (he played for the Gophers). CW
  6. Cool! We have an office in England, and a couple of my coworkers have brought me back some Whole Nut Bar and crisps, so I havn't been completely cut off yet. CW
  7. Why would he care? This story came out either right before or right after he was cut (and either way, he already knew the Bills were cutting him). Why make a big deal about one article? CW
  8. If he single-handledly lost the game, maybe... But we were a Josh Reed holding penalty away from scoring a TD, then Lindell missed the kick, then the defense didn't show up... And the game unraveled from there. I'm not sure I really believe the coin-toss thing personally; if it were true, I would've expected to see a lot of people talking about it, besides our favorite coffee-drinking reporter. Regardless, it did work out for him. And it could work out for others and the league wouldn't be able to stop it, assuming the player wanted to risk it. CW
  9. Maybe you could ship those crisps and Whole Nut bars while you're at it...? (well, maybe not the same ones, as they'd be rather old by now....) CW
  10. Actually, they could... If they really wanted to... If you have HD, apparantly HDNet shows some (all?) of the episodes in HD at some point. I don't know when that point is though, so I have to keep my eyes open. CW
  11. TiVo implementing portions of it is different than making it illegal though... If you don't like TiVo, you can make your own box. However if the Broadcast flag crap goes through, you won't have any alternatives... Unless you're willing to break the law CW
  12. Your theory doesn't work though, because DB didn't tank the season; we went 9-3 after the September fun. In a general case, the chances of being caught (unless you're the Timerwolves) are almost zero anyway. CW
  13. Oh look, more sexual attacks, just like I said earlier. CW
  14. For the record, #2 was unsubstantiated by anyone other than Peter King (or if it was confirmed by coaches/staff/players/other writers, I missed it). And did you really need to bold it? That's almost as bad as all caps... CW
  15. http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/archives/004047.php This Broadcast flag is like Rasputin! If you havn't already contacted your government, you should do so: https://secure.eff.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=di...erAction&id=129 Here's a list of contact info of the people who are supporting this crap: http://yro.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=16...764120#13764289 Of course, they probably won't listen to us anyway, since the Golden Rule applies here - "He who has the gold, makes the rules." CW
  16. The progression around here is hilarious. 1) We cut Bledsoe, fans cry out, "Bledsoe is washed up! He should retire!" 2) Bledsoe plays poorly in the first preseason game, fans cry out, "See, we were right!!!! Bledsoe is washed up!" 3) Bledsoe has a bad first series against the Chargers in week 1. Fans cry out, "See, we were right! Bledsoe is washed up!" 4) Bledsoe bounces back from bad first series to defeat the Chargers. Fans cry out, "Bledsoe doesn't play for the Bills anymore! Why are you guys praising his play?!" followed by, "The Redskins will expose Bledsoe to the entire league! He'll be sacked 150 times!" 5) Bledsoe is not sacked against the Redskins, not even once. Fans cry out, "But look, he lost! He can't win against a real team!" 6) Bledsoe leads a late drive to win the game, but his pass falls short. Fans cry out, "See, we were right, Bledsoe sucks!" while at the same time saying, "It's ok that JPL throws the ball like that, he's going to the Hall of Fame!" Fans followup with, "Wait until the Eagles game, Bledsoe will be lucky to live through it!" 7) Bledsoe destroys Philadelphia, and isn't sacked at all. Fans cry out, "He always plays well at the start of the season when he's on a new team! He'll soon suck again because he never plays well late in the season!" Those fans apparantly forgot the 9-3 record at the end of last season.... It's pretty humorous, considering the non-bashers are simply saying, "Look, Bledsoe wasn't the problem here last year. He's still got plenty of gas in the tank." Comments like that always seem to bring out sexual attacks though. Maybe Bledsoe-bashers are all gay? (not that there's anything wrong with that...) CW
  17. Yup, we won 9 games, but that doesn't mean anything. CW
  18. Yeah, I read that about surgery -- so I'm glad (wasn't looking forward to that at all!) I couldn't figure out how to wrap a towel around my arm so that I can't bend it much. However, I read somewhere that another idea is to buy one of those foamy elbow guards and put it on backwards. I might try that. Need to contact our health and safety department here to fix up my workspace as well I guess... I was kinda hoping the doctor would say I couldn't work the rest of the week How long did it take for your elbow to get better? CW
  19. Apparantly the season break is only a US thing. In the UK, they had a few weeks off and then started up with the cnotinuation of season 1. The same thing is expected with season 2 -- ie: If you scour the 'net, you can probably find the continuation of season 2 online (and maybe even in HD...) long before you can watch it on Sci-Fi in the states. Not that I condone that sort of thing. CW
  20. I didn't live through those times, and I realize that going 3-13 this year, as long as we beat Miami again, isn't a total failure of a year (5-11 is better, beating the Pats twice ). CW
  21. Why, does Ricky share with the fans? CW
  22. Doctors are lame (no offense to BillsFanM.D. and other doctors around here ). I went to the doctor today, they took a couple of xrays and said, "Everything looks fine. You should wrap a towel around your elbow when you go to bed so that it doesn't move, and contact the ergonomics department where you work so they can adjust your desk." Ok, good advice and all, but it's also advice I learned myself online and here. They always say, "You should always seek medical advice and not listen to anyone other than a doctor that you see in person," yet everytime I go, I've already correctly diagnosed myself beforehand What a waste of time. When I went to a doctor 10 years ago for wrist problems (tendonitis or something), they took xrays and said, "everything's fine, there's nothing wrong with you." And my favorite, when I had pink eye (the only disease I ever seem to get), and needed eyedrops, the doctor insisted on seeing me instead of just prescribing me some more anti-bacterial eyedrops (since it was the same disease I had 6 months earlier). He looks at my eyes for about 30 seconds, says, "Yup, you have pinkeye," and then gives me a prescription. I just don't have a good track record I guess. CW
  23. I'm just saying that watching his press conference sounded like they were talking to someone in the Special Olympics. He seemed to pause after EVERY single word. Not questioning his ability as a coach, I just don't remember him sounding so... slow... when he was in the AFC East. CW
  24. Sanders can't be up this year, since he played for the Ravens last year. Doesn't that reset his 5-year counter? CW
  25. Watching his press conference now, and Parcells sounds like he rides on the short bus... When....he .... feels.... comfortable.... He... throws..... the.... ball.... well...... CW
