  1. It seems that the of posts lately are centered on trading/not trading McGahee, the 3 glaring needs that we still have and what positions that should be addressed first in the draft. With more and more players that will become available, I believe our needs will be met before the draft even starts. This will put us in position to select best player available, the way it should be. Would that be acceptable for EVERYONE?

  2. I'd say no. He's going to Arizona to take plays off while wilting in the heat there.

We'd have to do a deal with Tampa to move ahead of Arizona.

Tampa has QBs. Lots of QBs. Tons of QBs.

In trade value we'd have to give up our 1, 2 and 3 to begin talks.

Oh - Willis, you say – OUR Willis? Yeah, we could give up our 1, 2 and OUR Willis for Branch.

    No. It'll never happen.

Would never want to give up anything that steep. Maybe swapping#1s and giving up a #1 next year. Or swapping #1s and Willis.

It all depends on how good this guy is, and if this is the elite player for us. At 6'6", easily able to add a couple of lbs. if needed, this looks like the monster lineman of the draft.

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins, according to a source, are shopping TE Randy McMichael. The team is asking for a third-round draft pick in return. McMichael is set to collect a $3 million roster bonus along with his $1 million base salary for 2007. He is under contract with the team through 2009.

  4. Could not agree more. While I like the Kelsay signing, it reminds me of signing Josh Reed last season. While Reed was an RFA, I didn't see anyone giving him the money the Bills did. It's kind of like being at an auction and bidding against yourself. I like the move, but at that money, we're not able to afford quality FA's for potentially the O-Line and CB.

    Little perplexed right now.

That is exactly what came to mind.

  5. I'd like to see the Bills consider the Steelers strategy in '05 of using Jerome Bettis as the anchor of their power running game and Willie Parker as the anchor of their speed running game.

Willis McGahee is a power running back. He needs a speed guy with Maroney or Parker-like skills. Would Willis buy into it though?

A power running back can convert a 3rd and 1.

  6. Toward the end of his career, Steve Tasker became a surprisingly good contributor at WR. It was too little and too late to keep people from thinking of Tasker as an exclusively special-teams guy. But he was there long enough to learn a thing or two about running pass routes and getting open.

You are exactly right. I remember Jim Kelly saying no one can cover Steve Tasker.

  7. FYI

    LINKY

CBS analyst Steve Tasker told PFW that the Bills still believe in RB Willis McGahee but that his limitations keep him from being considered an elite back. “I think there are some things Willis doesn’t do as well as other top backs. He’s a power runner. He runs downhill and he doesn’t hop, jump and skip, but that also means he doesn’t hop, jump and skip in pass routes, and they have to tailor pass routes for him. So that’s a limitation, although he catches the ball well and runs well after catching it. But he’s more of a screen-pass guy and a swing-type guy. He’s not going to split out, catch it in the slot and make a guy miss.”

I think he will hop, skip, jump right out of town. What kind of friggin' analogy is that anyway Tasker? Just stick to special teams, you are the Man in that dept.
