  1. In the middle of the night, about 3 a.m. About 50 miles from where I live. Same thing happened in 98, about 1 a.m. while everyone was sleeping. Lost two really good friends in that one. They are rare, but deadly. Some survivors are talking about being thrown around inside and outside their homes. What a B word. God Bless the families.

  2. Hooray for the nightclub culture of professional athletes!

I'm truly sorry for his family, but how many times does this have to happen before someone thinks staying out at all hours in these places might be a bad idea? They tend not to attract people of high manners. When you're an athlete making millions, you have a target on your back for all manner of people --- women who see $$ and men who think they need to show how tough they are. It may be a party-poop, but you need to not put yourself in those situations. Which makes me all the more happy that Marv likes 'character' guys who keep out of this stuff.

Nothing good happens after 1 a.m.

:wallbash: It was Friggin' New Years Eve..........

  3. Just curious, but has either Willis or his agent ever even suggested, let alone stated outright, that Willis wouldn't play out his contract if required to do so?

Brilliant!! I would tell them both to STFU and let Willis carry the football- and talk extention about the same time next year.

Just like they did with Lindell. Let's face it- If this guy played as hard as say.... Travis Henry did this year, we would not be having this conversation. The Titans do not have a problem paying him this year, because they know he plays hard :o EVERY game.

  4. Regarding Fletcher's depature, which I think is imminent: Who will be the on-field coach, lining up players?

Said Fewell: "He's taken so much heat off the young guys. He's making all the adjustments, calling all the defenses, he's lining the front up and the secondary; he runs the whole show. So yes, to lose him would be tough for us. He's our Ray Lewis from the perspective of he's the guy who people look to."

With all that being said, I think a more dominating run stuffing linebacker will benefit this team. Here's hoping Spikes returns to form :o It would be hard to imagine this guy's career taking a nose dive the way Sam Cowart did. That would be a hard pill to swallow.

  5. A friend of mine is an electrician, and mounted one in his garage, using electrica :censored: lmetal conduit. He was able with fittings mounted in the ceiling and floor to remove it and just pop it in when needed. I might add he is quite a sick pup....

  6. Sometimes players outlive their contracts....The contract might have been established based on what the player was capable of doing as of today...But in a year or two he might have played way above that expectation...It is only fair to throw that contract away and give the player a new deal.....

Peters will not be playing on the 5 year contract he signed this year....In another 2 years the bills will have to renegotiate the contract so that he is paid on par with other LTs in the game....

Yup- and HE'S WORTH IT. And if Willis was, well nuff said.

  7. This should be entertaining - Drew R seems to think Willis has been one of the better RB's in the NFL the past 3 years. There is a reference to Edgerinne James type money...Not on your life.

Willis is a capable NFL running back, but the facts remain - No Pro Bowls, Never lead the lead in rushing, TD production low compared ot the elite backs of the league. Willis does deserve a new contract - I think money commensurate with a Rudy Johnson or maybe Thomas Jones...but not James, Tomlinson, Portis or Johnson money.

This will be entertaining to watch...

What balls after watching Henry run up and down the field all day. My knock on McGahee- he runs hard when he wants to. At least should have waited to see whaat he does against a stout Ravens defense. Give me that fast little bast*rd from Jacksonville any day. Just my two cents, I'm sure the nickels and dimes will follow......

  8. As much as that Royal play bothered me at the time I don't think it would have changed the outcome.  Is there any doubt that on 4th and 1 with 2 minutes left the Titans would have picked up the first down and likely scored the go ahead TD (as opposed to kicking the go ahead FG)?

The blame for this loss goes squarely to the D.  When is the last time this unit made a stand late in the 4th quarter?

Last week. But the smaller , lighter , faster DT'S MUST GO.

  9. I think it's a Fletchesque sham he didn't go to the PB

    875675[/snapback]

I just saw on ESPN where the Vikings locked up the other Williams DT long term. They are happy with that combo.

My biggest question still is what is Marv's plan to stop the run? Pat Williams is the proto-type DT- large enough to stuff the run, but fast enough to give QB's nightmares.

Was Tripplett a band-aid for this season, or is he long term material?

  10. Mike, I predict that you are going to fall off of your chair when you see what Kelsay signs for as a UFA. The man simply does not belong in a class with Anderson.

Kelsay is a DE who can rush the passer.

Anderson is a DT who doesn't tie up blockers or tackle people.

Kelsay has surprised me this year- I just think Denney has out played him. I just long for a premier pass rushing Defensive End from the left side. Anderson has been a huge disappointment. Over the next 3 games, the coaches will evaluate Kelsay. I fell off my chair when they re-signed Denney, but he has had a great season.
